Description
The recent demise of the Mercury brand has not hit me as hard as the end of Plymouth, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac. There really hadn't been an interesting Mercury since the Cougar and, as much as I would want a Grand Marquis, I can't afford either to buy one or to keep one fueled. If Ford is really going to focus more on Lincoln as a result of dropping Mercury, though, then Lincoln is going to have to get more interesting. So, I tried to think of all the interesting post-war Fords (and the pre-war Lincoln Continental) and come up with something that had their appeal.
This is what I've come up with: the Lincoln MK1, a long-hood/short-deck 4-seat coupe with a V-8 engine and rear drive. Actually, what I've shown here is the retractable hardtop version, the MK1 Capri.
