Mercedes-Benz 2.3-16, from under the bonnet of a Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16. This was a homologation special for DTM racing, and it forced BMW to make its own homologation special, the E30 M3.

According to the owner of the car, one of the advantages of owning a 190E 2.3-16 over owning a M3 is that the 190E special used more standard parts than the M3 so more parts, especially body parts, are readily available than with the M3.
