Description In honor of the release of Star Trek 2009, and in a fit of fandom I decided to take some macro/close up photos of my new metal Enterprise model. If you haven't seen the move GO SEE IT. Honestly...

I loved the new movie. In my humble opinion, it is second only to 'The Wrath of Khan.'

I like this shot of the Enterprise, and the strong, metallic look.

Thank you for your comments!

Yes, I enjoyed this new movie. I have to say "Wrath of Khan" was pretty cool and I actually liked most of "The search for Spock" as well.

I wasn't sure about the new Enterprise when I first saw it, but now, I love it. It seriously is a fabulous design.

I can see where fans can get skeptical about the redesign but I think people can grow to like it.

On first view, you look at the superficial things; but after a while, you notice what's awesome about it.

Yeah, honestly I think my favorite part is actually the saucer section. I personally would have liked the the neck to sit a little farther forward on the body. The engines on the back are much sleeker though, than in the older versions and I kind of like them too. There is something really classy about the odd curve that makes them ultra futuristic.

My personal bugbear was that the drive section seemed much too small in comparison to the oversized saucer; I did get used to it, eventually, though I'd still like to see it stretched out a bit.

I kinda agree, it does seem too small however, I have to say, seeing it on my model it seems a bit more understandable. Seeing it from the side makes more sense than seeing it from the top. The height of the saucer is nice from above the width makes it just seem too massive for the width of the engines.
