A Donkey adoptable I am trying for from ~DeluxeDesignCenter [link]

Name: Dune
Age:4
Gender: Stallion
Species: Mammoth Donkey
Height:15.3 hh
Weight: Average

Personality: He has a very bad personality. When he was younger he seemed like a regular donkey with a nice temperament, but as soon as he hit a year old he grew angry and mean tempered. He will try to kick you any chance he gets. He can be handled by people but we will fight it. Don’t even try to get a pack on his back it will not work nor is it worth it. Dune will tolerate woman better then men but only for a bit. Despite his attitude he does part of what he was bred for well. Dune’s job is guarding other animals. He mostly guards the cattle on the farm. They are a new breed of cow that are a lot smaller so they need some protection. Depending on the time of year he may also protect the newly weaned foals.

Backstory: Damien and his younger sister Sam were walking around the sale grounds at the fair. There were many different horses and live stock for sale. Sam was so excited she went around petting most of the animals, at one point she tried to tempt Damien into buying a little lamb, but it didn’t work to well. Damien was looking for something in particular. The cows they had back on there ranch were a very small breed and he worried about them. He wanted to get an animal to guard them. He had thought about the dogs but the cows where to nervous of them. Damien wanted a Donkey they were very good guard animals, plus they can be used for other things as well. Finally Damien found the section housing the donkeys. Eventually he came across a young foal, it was about 6 months old. Damien wanted a male donkey this little colt seemed perfect. He talked to the owner for a bit. Damien bought the foal right then an there.

They spent time getting the little donkey and the cows used to one another. They named him Dune. As Dune grew, something changed. At first Damien thought he was just a regular Grey dun donkey but as Dune got older more stripes started appearing on his body. Damien didn’t mind he was quite happy in fact. But when Dune turned a year old something else changed, Dune grew angry and stubborn. His ears always seemed to be pointed back in anger. He was always ready to kick. He still guards the cows, but Damien could hardly handle him. Damien couldn’t understand what changed him, in the time that he was on the ranch none of them every treated Dune badly.

“Damien what are we going to do ?” Sam asked. “ Nothing , he does his job well and that’s all that matters. He is still part of this family.” Damien replied. “But weren’t you going to use him as a pack animal and stuff like that ?” Sam asked again. “ Ya but what can we do. I could probably get some mules out of him. His job will be guarding and that’s that.” Damien said as he got up from he seat.

Damien went out and looked into the field. Dune looked up and stared at him. Just as Dune was about to point his ears back Damien spoke “Don’t worry. I know now what you want. This will always be your home no matter how you act.” Dune slowly walked up to Damien and nuzzled him. Damien put his hand on Dunes forehead “Thanks boy.” This little friendship was short lived however. An hour later Dune gave Damien a sharp kick in the leg and then trotted off. With a painful smile Damien said “ Thanks boy.”

Plans for use: He will be used at my Ranch to guard the cows and the foals.
