Wow. There is something deeply haunting about this scene.

I don't know why, but somehow I find this a very interesting painting.
Might be because the contrast of moods. The cold creepyness of the room versus the welcoming guesture of the cat.

ItΒ΄s not only that we see the nurse as a cat, itΒ΄s also the way he gently offers us a chair to spend the evening sit on it, looking through the window. It makes me think of things like lobotomy and drug therapy. Feels sad but beautiful atmosphere.

The rolling bed is a gurney! They're called gurnies! I think I spelled it right. But yeah!
I think you did an amazing job on the background. I think that's the way it's stupposed to look when looking out a window on a bright day and the leaves... just everything. It comes together beautifully.
And you're right. The asylum itself is creepy but hauntingly beautiful. A place I'd visit for a little while maybe. Walk around it, then leave after I swear up and down I had a ghostly encounter or something. XDD

For a piece so bright, it sure is haunting. And there's just something about that light coming through the glass that really fits the scene, and makes it feel like this is truly part of an asylum.
