as you can probably tell i had to do some mixing and matching to get all of the reference pictures on one sheet...i do hope it's clear enough

BACKSTORY

Raven is the younger of two sisters born to parents from a wealthy family. She and her sister used to attend an all-girls private academy for high school. Raven's relationship with her sister, Elizabeth, and her parents is strained. Raven's parents are disappointed in Raven for being so antisocial at parties and so involved with technology and not business, like her father. Her sister Elizabeth is well liked and spoiled by both parents. At school, Raven has a boyfriend (who she doesn't really care for, Miles) and multiple boys are interested in her, but Raven never pays them any attention because she doesn't know how to respond to love. Raven is popular at school for her talents in robotics and judo, despite her humbleness.

The private academy is run by a wealthy mogul who believes in keeping up appearances. When multiple warnings of zombie attacks start spreading, Mr. Summers ignores them, claiming "his institution has only the best of defenses". Predictably, the zombies attacked during the school day. The gym was first breached and multiple students and instructors were killed. Quickly responding to the situation, the rest of the students were evacuated into a safe basement located beneath the school. After waiting it out for several hours, some teachers left the basement to assess the situation. Twenty minutes passed. They did not come back. Many students in the basement started panicking and chaos erupted.

Since there were no food supplies in the basement (it had only been used to store unneeded gym equipment), the students broke into teams and made a dash for it. Raven left with her close friend Jacqueline, Miles, and Elizabeth. When they resurfaced, they discovered the majority of the school in rubble and covered in dust. Blood was splattered on some walls and bits of human parts were strewn randomly throughout. The telephone wires were down and there was no way to communicate. Raven's group left the school grounds and journeyed to the city square. There seemed to be no living people left. While they were scouting in the park for any other survivors, a group of zombies appeared from around the corner and attacked them. Miles, in an attempt to shield the rest of the girls, sacrificed himself to buy the others time to run. In a panic, Elizabeth tried to escape but ended up breaking her leg after tripping on overturned rubble. Jacqueline and Raven escaped again to Raven's (or what was left of Raven's house). They searched the grounds for Raven's parents until they reached the master bedroom. Through a crack in the door, the girls saw a shadow moving. Jacqueline, desperate for adult protection, rushed in through the door just as Raven noticed the maid's body and the blood all over the floor in the room. Jacqueline ran right into the zombie. Raven, unable to contain herself, lunged at the monster and ended up getting bitten in the left arm. She pulled it away from Jacqueline while smashing its head in with her foot. Unfortunately, it was too late for Jacqueline.

Raven fell to the ground in pain; her left arm coursed like it was on fire and she could almost feel the infection running through her system. Without hesitating, she pulled out a knife hidden at the bottom of her parent's cabinet and cut off the septic wound. She wrapped the rest of her arm in thick sheets from the bed to stop the bleeding. Immediately, Raven dashed to her room and tech lab and built herself a prosthetic arm out of the scrap material left over and whatever else she could salvage. That night, she buried Jacqueline alone.

No help came to the town during the week. Raven recuperated as best she could, and filled her sister's bag with basic supplies like food, knives, and clothes, as well as with Jacqueline's hair ribbon and the locket with her family's photos. Raven ran away to the next town over. During her stay there, some strangers told her that a few others had passed through like her, one of whom was a woman who possessed a locket just like Raven. The woman in the locket supposedly survived because she, unlike many other parents who went straight to the academy to look for their kids, left her children to die and escaped. Because of this, Raven has reason to believe that her mother may still be alive; however, Raven does not know whether to seek her out because of the betrayal. Out of shame, Raven dropped her last name so she would not be associated with her mother anymore, or with the snobby town that refused to protect its students.

For the time being, Raven is living in the streets, surviving by herself. She is seriously traumatized by the events that occurred and finds it difficult to trust anyone, even those that have offered her aid. Her skills have allowed her to build a portable radio which she is now using to locate others who have suffered like her. She has not encountered any more zombies after the initial attack but has sworn to herself to kill every last one of them.
