Description The same Strike Rouge as before, but with the IWSP striker pack attached instead. This is how I planned to field the Strike Rouge in the animation, only without the Grand Slam (giant sword there). There are already 2 anti-ship swords holstered in the IWSP pack so another sword is just adding too much to it. In a change to what I wrote here ([link]) about the animation I'm putting together, the Strike Rouge will engage the Impulse because of the brand spanking new Silhouette pack that Shinn's Gundam will be attached to.

INFO
So this is the Strike Rouge from the Gundam Seed/Destiny anime/manga. The IWSP is an integrated weapons systems backpack that takes the AILE/SWORD/LAUNCHER striker packs and jams them into one convenient pack. It's worth noting that this pack's design (as well as the Gundam) eventually evolves into the Strike Noir from the STARGAZER mini series.

Anyway, I'm just knocking it out so I can move on as quickly as I can with other things.

Software: Lightwave 3D 8.3 (Modelling, Rendering), Photoshop (textures, post process), Hexagon (UV's), Freehand (Logos)

Gundam is (c) Bandai/Sunrise/Sotsu Agency

I know. they need to understand if they are going to name something a shade of deep red that you should do it in that color. all their red suits are pink.

Stunning as always.Adding the Grand Slam may not be a bad idea as battle cruisers & gun ships are only effective in long range attacks which made them a sitting duck when a Mobile Suit reached the bridges.

Then again,it is certainly not a good idea when it is a battle between Mobile Suits for sure.

sandrum In reply to Somvold [2006-11-06 06:58:22 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I was thinking that it would be nice to see in the fight, but figured that it would be too tedious to animate and just be a bad idea with 2 other swords already attached.

Not that my lazy self has gotten to the animations yet.....

You even have the Grand Slam thing from the PG kits, nice!

They actually included the Grandslam in the Master Grade IWSP kit as well (that just came out last month).

sandrum In reply to BoundDoc [2006-11-08 06:43:21 +0000 UTC]

It's a nice kit too... the iwsp wing span is fairly wide. takes up a good amount of space, something around the length of the span of the Quebely mobile suit.

BoundDoc In reply to sandrum [2006-11-08 21:46:01 +0000 UTC]

Does it stand well, or does it come with a stand?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sandrum In reply to BoundDoc [2006-11-09 00:37:05 +0000 UTC]

Yup, it stands well (even with the backpack) and comes with a stand. Not like the stand from the original MG strike though.

Another masterful rendering. I keep checking my devwatch for another image by you.[impatient, I know!]

I love the texturing on the sword, and the built-in turret in the shield is /so/ freaking cool looking.

All the little details in this never cease to amaze me. Definitely worth a favorite.

Not much to say about this one besides the obvious congratulations. A question, though... Any chance of you sharing the textures you've made for some of your MS? I'm toying with custom decals for some actual Gundam models I'm working on, and I'm fond of a lot of the markings you've made...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sandrum In reply to GlauG [2006-11-06 06:47:13 +0000 UTC]

Interesting. I might post that someday. Bascially they're markings that I either found on the net or had in an instruction book. I imported them into Freehand or Flash and traced over them --afterwhich I can zoom to any size and export them as whatever. If I couldn't find anything that matched perfectly or it was too small to see, I usually just made it up -- but only to where it looked similar from a distance. The Cagalli's lion insignia was from an image (of it) on the internet that I basically performed the above operations on. For the most part, that is the reason I use Freehand or Flash.
Some of it is just plain dumb though. The Hazel Custom had some decals that came with a separate magazine, however, when you looked really closely (the text was smaaaaall) you could see that it was just jibberish. One that I sort-of recall was for the Hazel that said " DANGER - Dengeki hobby and bandai have teamed up to make a gundam plamodel" or something rediculous like that. I'll have to take another look at it to make sure... but it was a good laugh.

GlauG In reply to sandrum [2006-11-07 12:37:36 +0000 UTC]

Oh, non-official decals are always fun. I got a set from some guys in Hong Kong which had text copied from MAHQ...

I was thinking of stuff like the wing markings and stuff you had for your Saviour and the Pylon ones from the X-bones.

Have you ever designed your own and sent them off to be fabricated?

GlauG In reply to sandrum [2006-11-08 04:10:24 +0000 UTC]

I actually made some of my own with decal paper, with mixed results...

If you have a decent printer, it works wonders but you need an ALPS printer for professional quality really. My inkjet was okay, Laser printers' only problems are that they don't print white.

sandrum In reply to GlauG [2006-11-08 06:37:58 +0000 UTC]

Well, guess I can toss that idea out then (my printer's quite old).

GlauG In reply to sandrum [2006-11-08 10:49:14 +0000 UTC]

If I hadn't been fired from my job last month I'd have been buying an ALPS printer this month. Such is life.

Heh, I've been wondering where the giant sword thing came from...I've seen it with the Perfect Grade Strike as well, but Never noticed it in the mobile suit specs on mahq, and of course I'd remember if it'd been in the series (which it should have been)
Anyway, really nice job, as usual! I can rarely keep myself from faving your stuff, heheh.

sandrum In reply to Ex-Shadow [2006-11-06 06:39:11 +0000 UTC]

I think the Grand Slam was pretty much just in the video games (GSD - Federation vs Zaft/2). Someone might have to back me up on that since I'm unable to confirm it (never played it).
