Description The same Strike Rouge as before, but with the IWSP striker pack attached instead. This is how I planned to field the Strike Rouge in the animation, only without the Grand Slam (giant sword there). There are already 2 anti-ship swords holstered in the IWSP pack so another sword is just adding too much to it. In a change to what I wrote here ([link]) about the animation I'm putting together, the Strike Rouge will engage the Impulse because of the brand spanking new Silhouette pack that Shinn's Gundam will be attached to.

INFO
So this is the Strike Rouge from the Gundam Seed/Destiny anime/manga. The IWSP is an integrated weapons systems backpack that takes the AILE/SWORD/LAUNCHER striker packs and jams them into one convenient pack. It's worth noting that this pack's design (as well as the Gundam) eventually evolves into the Strike Noir from the STARGAZER mini series.

Anyway, I'm just knocking it out so I can move on as quickly as I can with other things.

Software: Lightwave 3D 8.3 (Modelling, Rendering), Photoshop (textures, post process), Hexagon (UV's), Freehand (Logos)

Gundam is (c) Bandai/Sunrise/Sotsu Agency

Y'know, this all makes me think again at how a waste it is for such a great MS to only be utilized by Cagalli... which didn't really show any exceptional skills at piloting. And for all the chances she gets to go out in the battlefield, she ends up only delivering speeches and stuff, without ever bringing out the MS's full capability. (Lucky we got to see Mwu slug it out in the Shiranui Akatsuki, though.)

Great work The pose is really cool.

dude, that's awesome!!! I love the IWSP pack's design, especially since I've never really seen a detailed color picture of it. and that Grand Slam sword just rocks.

I was thinking about upping the ante and adding some more, but it takes too long to render already. I'll have to figure something out.

Usually only one shield is equipped at a time for this config... either the standard or the combined shield (the one shown).

wow...the PG version? is this going to be the new box art for the PG? i kinda didn't really like the recoloring of the strike...it was supposed to be retro-fitted with astray parts since the old strike was technically destroyed and only a few parts were salvageable ~__~ gah never mind the rants of a gundam-ota...

still cool release, besides bandai's way of gaining more cash is to split up the weapon packs ~__~ this was the 1st prototype from what i hear...i dunno if its true...but if its true...well...you get the pic

any chance of modifying it to fit the red frame?

sandrum In reply to cramcomplex [2006-11-06 01:59:05 +0000 UTC]

I can't really say that I mind. This (series of suits) is probably my favorite in the Seed universe. I'm still not as fond of the Strike Noir as the standard X-105 though.

I don't have time for astrays at the moment... but if I do, I might try.

👍: 0 âĐ: 1

cramcomplex In reply to sandrum [2006-11-06 10:09:17 +0000 UTC]

he he, don't get me wrong but the I've got complaints on the design of the x-105 series...the feet, they're too damn flat-footed as far as the model-kits are concerned. But your render is quite good and the feet are proportional, if only they did the feet like the astrays...it'd be perfect.

As for the astrays, I'd be amazed if you actually had the time to render the Blue Frame 2nd-L or the Blue Frame with the Full-Armor pack. That'd ROCK!!!

👍: 0 âĐ: 1

sandrum In reply to cramcomplex [2006-11-08 09:11:07 +0000 UTC]

Really? I love those flat feet . Ah, but it would kill the design on the freedom. The flat feet on the GAT series are what I like about them the most, especially on the Strike and Buster.

👍: 0 âĐ: 1

cramcomplex In reply to sandrum [2006-11-08 13:00:04 +0000 UTC]

gahahaha...oh well flat feet >__< i really do wish they'd kinda give a more feminine look to the rouge by adding heels...it makes all the difference LOL hehe aren't you forgetting another unit? the duel? well...i've got no argument with the buster...if it weren't flat footed...it'd fall coz of the guns, no argument on that as for the duel, if it weren't for the assault shroud i'll go berserk LOL and as for the strike, not toally redesign the whole foot...kinda make it at bit narrower IMHO, but like i said...give the rouge an identifier that a girl is piloting it...not just the crest and color LOL give her heels XD

👍: 0 âĐ: 1

sandrum In reply to cramcomplex [2006-11-09 13:55:52 +0000 UTC]

Yikes. Heels on the strike would have killed me. Yeah, i didn't forget the Duel, I just didn't like it so I didn't mention it. even the bleu duel doesn't do it for me.

👍: 0 âĐ: 1

cramcomplex In reply to sandrum [2006-11-09 19:44:57 +0000 UTC]

the heels are killers to mod and build! just like the one on the nobel...omg don't forget to add the skirt to the rouge XD (damn...makes me wanna get my strike-rouge back home >__< HEELS!!!)

Hey, Ivan...can I steal your skills for a day? XD.

I really like the grand-vulcan/shield system on the Strike Rogue IWSP. I think that was one of the meaner-looking pieces of equipment. It reminds me very strongly of the CGUE-Commander custom that has the integrated MA shield on it with the grand vulcan underneath. I'd love to have this baby, even with that paint scheme. XD.

I'm surprised though you were able to add on Kagari's custom ORB insignia, that's ace work there.

Hm. the Grand Slam reminds me of Impulse's EXCALIBER and the sword Shinn uses with the Destiny, not to mention the weapons from the older OMNI Enforcer seita-CPU gundams. It's well-executed here.

Fav'd.... and oh yeha, the way this is done reminds me also of the Vierge from Xenogears for some reason.... hm.

I loved Xenogears!! I suppose I can see where you're going there.

Anywho, I wished that they used this pack in the anime. Would have been nice I think.

Mouse-eater In reply to sandrum [2006-11-06 08:05:24 +0000 UTC]

I'm a huge Xenogears freak, one of my favorite video games (Great story, terrible execution). Even have Xenogears: Perfect Works, which is totally sweet.

Yeah it would have. That's a weapons system that looks incredibly badass. By the way, am I like, the ONLY person who likes the GAT-series leg design for Strike better than the leg frames for Freedom and the ZGMF-line Gundams?

sandrum In reply to Mouse-eater [2006-11-09 14:19:56 +0000 UTC]

I was riveted all through the game. I wish the sprite resolution was higher, but i liked the sprite animation. The anime was well done but the voices really sucked... I winced quite hard the first time I heard elly speak.

dude, I totally dig the GAT leg designs. I'm a big fan of how busy and mechanical they look in comparison to the impulse/freedom/justice...etc.

👍: 0 âĐ: 1

Mouse-eater In reply to sandrum [2006-11-09 18:36:58 +0000 UTC]

yeah, XG had some really solid writing and storyline. I didn't mind the sprites, I think it actually was better back then because there wasn't as much reliance on omfg-awesome game-engines to drive the scene forward, instead a lot of it the player had to fill in the gaps (facial expressions, voices, less broad gestures, the 'frame of reference')... I liked that about older games, and 'gears in particular. It really influenced my storywriting and views on SF-drama.

lol Elly speaking was funny though, though by the bad voice I take it you mean the english release right? (I surprisingly haven't played through the Japanese release of XG).

Yeah...the GAT leg design feels more real to me than the somewhat super-robot inspired designs on Freedom etc. Which is ironic, considering Okawara who designed them was the pioneer in moving farther to the technical right of Supa-robo to 'real robots'.
