Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time fan-art GO.I have immensely fond memories of playing this game, more so than any other Zelda title. I realise i’m about a month too late for the whole Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary thing, but screw it I say! In case you hadn’t realised from the title, or if you’ve never played Ocarina of Time (in which case you’re a bad person, feel free to slap yourself), this is final battle in the game between Link and Ganon.
Tools used: A4 paper, mechanical pencil, Photoshop CS5, mouse, Wacom Intuos 4
Update:
Since releasing this, I've been made aware by many of you that Link is left handed. Maybe Link injured his left arm and now has to resort to use his right arm?...or this is occurring in the Master Quest version of the game?...or I just screwed up? *chuckle* No, surely not.

This just might be the best rendition of the Final Battle I've ever seen...
Given my own (markedly lower) skills, it might seem a bit obnoxious to make a suggestion, but...
One of the best things about the final battle was how DARK it was. You could barely see what sort of gigantic, monolithic horror you were facing. While Ganon looks awesome here, he seems to have lost that sense of dread now that you can see him clearly.
'Course, you could just say that lightning struck just behind Link at that moment, but... yeah, I'll go with that.

I remember this fight I have the original N64 version of it. I frikin hated the water temple.

Oh man this is so perfect, so intense and dynamic, kind of gritty, this is no pushover fight. It's been so many years since I last replayed this game, but this captures the feeling of that battle exactly.
Link looks absolutely fantastic here. The pose, the angle and the foreshortening, you got it all perfect. And I love that you can't see his face, it makes it look all the more serious. I love Ganon's sword aimed straight for him too, and the way he's really leaping forward. There's so much energy in this! Even in the rain, dust and fire around them, you've done some really excellent work, there's just so much to see here.

I don't think I have ever seen Zelda look this epic before in my life. That's it! I'm about to either play the 64 or 3DS. I must play this fight again XD
Very good work! Makes me envious of your talent. Ocarina of Time is also the Zelda game I have most fond memories of aswell. The lighting is very well done and the rain effect just adds to the heat of the moment. Link has to be my favorite video game character of all time, so seeing this really makes me think about the hardships Link had to overcome during his long journey. The first time I saw Ganon I thought i was screwed XD
Overall I say this is as great as Zelda fan art gets.

Appreciate the comment. Looking back at the stuff I've done before, I've come a long way from stick figures to get to where I am now. I don't have many deviations yet, but it's a work in progress.

Pretty much. The setting for the final boss of the game had a greenish/brown look to it. For this, I wanted there to be some kind of uniformity to the palette and to make the scene look somewhat grim, but colourful as well.

Yeah it instantly gave me this unsettling air so that works pretty well.
Only thing I don't like about this, I bet not a lot of people are gonna be critical so i'll just tell ya, is the fire, it looks like those fake fires made with colored paper straps.

That’s a fair opinion. I intentionally made the fire unrealistic though; I wanted to go for a particular anime-style look for it.

Ah I see what you mean. But I think you just made it look too simple, it doesn't really fit with the detailed characters. But all in all that's just very minor dude. That kind of perspective would be a huge pain for me.
