I probably spelled kookaburra wrong but I'm way too lazy to spell check it. Anyway this was for a contest at my school a while back. No it didn't win, the judges weren't looking for creativity rather for a rather cliche gift giving thing. Anyway it's done in oil pastel one of my favorite mediums though its a bit more messed up than it was thanks to people who obviously did not know how to care for oil pastel stuff. Anyway I don't exactly remember how long this one took me, just that it took a while.Related content

Aww, this is a super cute picture! I definitely have not seen a kookaburra for Christmas before so that is really cool. I have never won any contests art related outside dA so I understand. Things like that are usually cliche. But your drawing is gorgeous and likely should have won. I love how you drew the face, it looks so sweet. The shading on the bell is really nice too and I love all those feathers. What a shame that they messed it up...hopefully if you enter again you can find a good fixative to spray over it so they cannot smudge it.
