I hate to use my own work as an example because it looks conceited, but my internet's practically dead so I can't really go and find a better pen drawing at the moment... anyway, what I wanted to show you are some more possibilities of pen - how you can make the horse look much shinier, and have more contrast, by leaving some sections white, or having some areas with much less shading, like in this pic: [link] (I've probably gone a bit overboard with the white, because a) I was rushing, and b) the horse had almost white fur in those parts, but I think it gives a little bit of an idea). Hope that helps!
