You might be interested in my website. I'm trying to encourage people to share alien ideas like this, and I'd love somebody to share some artwork. This profile format is exactly what I'm looking for. It's called SciFi Ideas (scifiideas.com). Check it out if you are interested. If not, keep up the great work anyway!

Thank you!

Your website looks interesting. However, is this image enough for an idea?

Here's a thought. What I could do, with your permission, is take the version of the image without the text, then type this up and make it a little longer.
I'd still give all the credit to you. And I'd link the article to your website and deviant art of course.

Agreed! Want to talk by email about this? I had a vague idea about the Pok'Maar when drawing the image.

Well done, Mark! You turned the initial idea into a very good description.

I'm glad you liked it.
I've just added a similar description to my new random alien species generator, which is worth checking out if you're looking for ideas (or a good laugh)

Some critique about the data:

- Mass does not depend on gravitational pull of the planet;
- Light-years are a layman's unit; scientists use parsecs (1 pc = 3.22 ly);
- Putting Lifespan among planet's data is odd;
- Generally, overabundance of apostrophes is regarded as a bad thing when designing alien languages, although if you have a reason for them - go ahead;
- I am not sure how likely both three-sided and four-sided symmetry evolving in the same species is, but it looks somewhat odd;
- Usually, in English, a dot (.) denotes a decimal point, while a comma (,) denotes separation of thousands, millions, etc. So you may want to exchange the two, so that your planet does not have a radius of 11 kilometres

Thanks for the crit!

I'll change the entries asap; hadn't thought about the mass.
I liked the apostrophes, gives the whole thing a strange look.
Concerning the three- and four-sided thing: my first draft had six eyes and six 'ears', but I just used four in the end. I liked it better, with one thought in mind: it's not usual in biology that sometimes limbs develop back until they almost fade away - think about the small upper arms the Tyrannosaurus Rex had. I think a similar process could have happened here - too many organs to be useful so nature got rid of it.

Again, thanks for your useful words on the picture. Helps a lot!
