Description
This was a custom order for someone in a trade for a resin I wanted. He is a Breyer model horse , once again with the added wings, but this time with a horn sculpted on, feathered legs, cloven hooves and no resculpting to mane or tail, just a bit to the forelock to accomodate the horn. Then the painting, which took a bit of doing both with airbrush and by hand.Related content

This is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. (just like all of your models) it really takes my breath away. I grew up with She-Ra and The Last Unicorn, My Little Ponies etc. and...wow, you have captured images of dreams I had! I really cannot tell you enough how much I love your work. It is so realistic! You bring these beautiful winged equines to life with such careful attention to detail, I am just so blown away by it all! ^_^

What kind of paints do you use and what do you use to add on like.. the wings? It looks really awesome and I've always wanted to try this.

I used airbrushed acrylics. The wings are resin wings sculpted by Kathleen Moody and are attached with metal pins, glue, and Aves Apoxie Sculpt. The horn and feathering is also added with Apoxie. Thanks! Is resin like a polymer clay or more like real clay? Or something totally and absolutely of its own? Same with apoxie? ^^' sorry for the questions

Resin is polyresin. Many things are made of it. I guess you can call it a form of plastic. Please go to the two links I sent as well as the ones at the end of this email...you will find the answers to all your questions as well as a ton more info than I can give you here. Apoxie is a 2 part modeling compound similar to epoxy but non toxic.
