Description Idea is mine, though based on the Tournament of Mortals.

Superman: Faster then a speeding bullet, and more powerful then a locomotive, Superman has been the Earth protector for decades. With an arsenal of abilities and the strength to physically move mountains with ease, Superman is one tough SOB.

Hulk: Bruce Banner must never become angry... for if he does, he becomes the Hulk, a fearsome juggernaut who's strength only increases with his rage. Over the years, the Hulk has done his best to be a hero, despite the damage the he tends to cause.

Now these two will face each other in the arena. Will the Man of Steel break beneath the fists of the Gamma Giant? Will the Green Avenger fall before the power of the Last Son of Krypton? These two have incredible power, and have used it to defend the Earth from harm. But now only one of them can triumph in the battle ahead. Only one of them can become...

THE DEADLIEST MORTAL!

Finally, in a classic 'To the Victor Goes the Spoils', after you pick a winner, pick something for them to take from the loser. It may be something as simple as a piece of equipment, to something as complex as a power. I'm just curious what you all would say.

(Disclaimer: Just to be clear, these two combatants were created / are owned by people far more creative / wealthier then me. I have made this, not for profit, but in the hopes of encouraging spirited discussion among fans. Please support the combatants official series. Thank you, that is all).

Hulk can THEORETICALLY match or even surpass Superman's strength, but only if he can remain angry enough for a long period of time.  However, he will most likely run out of stamina long before that happens.  Thus, Superman would win.

That being said, Hulk would still put up one hell of a fight!

Superman after a long and bloody fight. Hulk will bloody Superman and become more dangerous the longer the fight goes on. However, Superman has a wider variety of abilities. Ice breath, heat vision, and most importantly sustainable flight. Once Superman realizes Hulk can endure his full strength. He's going to stomp Hulk into the dirt, over and over again, until Hulk dies or is rendered unconscious.

With these two, it could go either way, but I'd say Supes wins more often than not.

I disagree. I think Superman clearly wins every time unless it's Early Golden Age Superman.

I was going to give my two cents but epicvictory summed up this battle pretty well...

I go for Supes. But that doesn't mean Hulk is weak and helpless against Superman. The only advantages I see for Hulk is that he's capable of keeping up with Superman in strength, the reflexes to keep up, durability, a healing factor, gets more powerful as the fight drags on, and his World Breaker form. But that's pretty much it. Superman dominates Hulk in pretty much everything else: Speed, skills, combat experience, versatility, long range attacks, also has a healing factor, and gets stronger with more sunlight and when he stops holding back. Sure, World Breaker Hulk is very impressive, there's Sun Dipped Superman who has shown greater feats than Hulk has ever done so far.

I don't see Hulk keeping up with Superman in strength considering that Superman has held up the weight of the planet for five days straight, a feat Hulk has never replicated or come anywhere close to replicating. Of course, that was New 52 Superman and not Superman from the previous continuity, so there is that. However, it is worth mentioning that latter Golden Age and Silver Age are both vastly stronger than New 52 Superman (Silver Age could tow several planets along on a giant chain that linked them, and Latter Golden Age Superman is his equal in strength). Only version of mainstream Superman I see Hulk being stronger than is Early Golden Age.

For the MOST part, Hulk is able to keep up until Supes stops holding back and gets more sunlight. Hulk's anger won't be able to keep up in the long run. Sure, Hulk may have the potential to rival Superman at max but that would take too long and Superman will be a step ahead or two during the whole fight.

Hulk is limitless no matter the circumstance

Superman needs a yellow sun

eventually Hulk would punch Superman far enough away from the sun to weaken him for the kill

Spider-Bat700 In reply to Garchompisbeast [2017-02-05 18:13:39 +0000 UTC]

....no, Hulk is not limitless. That is an absurd statement that is completely contradicted by the fact that Hulk has been straight up beaten numerous times and stalemated on other occasions. To claim that he is limitless is to engage in the "No Limits Fallacy". Superman has him surpassed in all physical arenas. There is no reason to think he can't win.

Hulk was tested by the Beyonder and it was found that his physical power and rage have no limits

Superman isn't the only being in existence without physical limits

Spider-Bat700 In reply to Garchompisbeast [2017-02-05 19:00:42 +0000 UTC]

And he was easily beaten by Zeus, has been challenged by a Thor who almost always holds back against him, and was being strained holding up a mountain, which seemed to put him to his limits. So in other words, whatever you're citing is complete nonsense that is contradicted by consistent displays of limits.

And no, Superman has limits too, which has also been demonstrated repeatedly, despite what Death Battle would have you believe. And honestly, if they are both "limitless", then going off of that logic, it would be a draw. But really, this is all "No Limits Fallacy" rubbish. Hulk and Superman have limits, and the latter's feats surpass the former's.

Superman. He's at a generally higher power level than Hulk, and it would take Hulk too long too reach Superman'a strength level. Even if he were too, Superman's greater speed, experience, and skill would even things out. As well as his greater variety in powers. The Hulk could come back from being annihilated, true. But by the fights over. He's "dead".

Hulk, even if it's a long fight. Most likely they'd fight to a virtual stalemate, or until they realized they've been put against one another by their enemies.
