EDIT: THE CONTRAST WAS TOO HIGH ON MY MONITOR!!!! I WAS MISSING ALL OF THE COLORS!!! I SHOULD REALLY CHECK MY OTHER RECENT STUFF TO SEE IF IT HAS BEEN MESSED UP BECAUSE OF MY STUPID MONITOR SETTINGS!!!!One part humor, one part nostalgia, one part "awwwwwwwww." That's how photographing kids should be.
This one is dedicated to Kathy, in honor of her *mumbles into hand* birthday that's coming up...I just couldn't wait until then
I love taking pictures of David, it's such a challenge. I go in looking for a concept, and I get frustrated to no end trying to get him to fulfill that concept. The kid moves at a two miles a minute...twice the speed of the normal two year old, so it's very difficult. I also like taking pictures of him because he looks a little like I did back at that age, so it's a funny representation of me in a way. I'm sure he'll end up a lot cuter though
Jen & Thorne & Lexy will love this one - the dimensions of this piece are in the Phi ratio, 1.618 to one, both inside the frame and out. It's mathematically beautiful!
I had so much fun making this...thank you to Jen for trying to get the kid to sit still, and thank you to Nini and Bobby for letting me borrow him
Any comments/suggestions?

I know what you mean about the monitor screwing up your tuning of the shot. Sometimes I'm surprised at how bright a photo is, only later to find out that the monitor where I edited the photo was set to very dark.. oh well...
anyways, about the shot... very nice.. mathematically well balanced and the title captures the photo very well..
you are very talented.. keep it up...

I really like this picture. I think it would be better if you centered it on the little guy more or had a better background up on top.

I love little children. No really. I'm serious.
It's a good piece, other than the main image. Oh boy, how I love children. I love them so much that I want to kill them all. Oopsy. Gotta go.
Over and out

Sorry Nate, that comment about killing children was totally unwarranted. There are some children that I like. But not many. So I apologize to the little would-be menace to society that is the main image of the photo. It is a really nice shot, and I like it. He looks really small in the chair. He's cute, too. Awwwww.

I think this photo captured everything you wanted it too. It's definitely got that 'aawwww' factor! I absolutely love the expression on his face - very typical. I think we can all probably see something of ourselves in this photo. Great job!

That's so funny and humorous!
I love the little guy's expression... Looks like a mini-version of an old dad with a bear in one hand and a remote in the other, ready to watch the game... Only he doesn't have a remote. But it's still awesome.
And negative space is so tasty...
Nice socks.

I don't know about this. cool concept. cute kid. but the feet are crystal clear and the face seems a bit out of focus.. or just blurred. i would prefer that the other way round. great shot anyhow.

i like this too, though. the white space is my favorite part. its really dramatic which is fun. and i hate whitespace usually, and rarely let it get into my work. so nice job buddy.

haha how do you think of this stuff? That's such a good idea!
In other news, you are the biggest geek I know. And you should read the DaVinci Code. They talk about that Phi stuff in it for a little bit.
Anyways, I'm sure Kathy will love it. It's about time someone gave her some good art (as opposed to the crap that jen made me do for her )

So, what's with the big grey space? Is it part of the wall or tweaking from you? It works, of course, but the transition from grey to white seems sudden, even with the dual step program. When I loaded the page, I had to scroll down an entire page length before I saw what the picture held. I liked that effect.

oh man this is such a wonderful shot...and the whole concept just amazes me. i love the way he's just sprawled out on the chair looking like he's the boss and the negative space at the top showing how many years he has to come to the stage where he'll actually fit in the chair. very nice angle and lighting....
