This could have been from a story I once tried to create. The protagonist was an engineering systems designer who found herself mysteriously a prisoner of some unseen conspirators. They use the machines she had created to force feed her to impossible fatness. In the end she weighs several tonnes and is immobile. Here the conspirators who have done this to her reveal themselves -- they are the very machines she had created! What was done to her was an experiment in a much larger plan to bring the entire world under their rule. She tells them it will never happen --- humanity will refuse to let it happen. The machines laugh at her. One of them says -- as the feeding actually intensifies -- "Refuse? Your people refuse paradise? You must be joking!"
