Added 6/15/08My part of a trade with , this is his Beast. No color on this guy, because I dunno what color he would be! Hope you like him!

Interesting deconstruction, KiwiFox.
Biblical connections aside, this is easily one of the most innovative mammalian monsters I've seen in some time...and considering the variety of leonine myth-critters out there, that's saying something. In no particular order, my favorite bits would have to be the massive clawed feet, the thick serpentine necks, and the expressions on each face (especially that evil smirk on the central 'king' mug)
My one 'complaint' involves the lack of decoration on the tail...might I suggest a 'tuft' of spiky porcupine-bristles?

Awesome, the fur looks good and the various different expressions on the heads are pretty cool.
They say two heads are better than one... I wonder what they'd say about seven. XD

That must be the "Beast" referred to in the Bible at Rev. 13:1-5, Rev. 17:3 - 18, and a few other places.
=3 The whole "Beast" thing is fun to picture in our heads.
"...and saw a Beast rise up from the sea, having 7 heads, 10 horns, and 7 crowns, and upon his head the name of blasphemy.
And the Beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth s the mouth of a Lion; and the dragon gave him his power, and his sear, and great authority."
But really the Bible isn't talking about a "Beast" Xp
7 heads means the 7 powerful nations that rulled over the known world at that time, or rather the 7 mountains. 10 horns were the capitol cities of these places and which had the leading power, and these 7 crowns were the "crowns" behind all the power. In other words the Kings. =3
As for the Leopard, Bear, and Lion. Rome was referred to as "The Lion", and Rome had the strongest, and best weapons around at that time. The Persians were referred to as the Leopard because of their swift abilities to ravage and conquer in only a mater of time. And last Babylon was the Bear because of it's desire to control and take more.
And why did this beast come out of the sea? Rome, Persia, and Babylon, (and I think Macedonia too) were going to siege the land and try to take it for themselves, by attacking from the Red Sea.
=3 so no horrible beast in the Bible, just a very interesting use of idioms through out it.

Finding these meanings is just like candy to my brain. XD
I did recite the majority of that from my head though, so I'm 90% sure that it's correct. I have a feeling I might have mixed up Greece and Rome with the lion, because Rome is referred to as "Lion's teeth" but not really a Lion alone.

Actually when I came up with the idea I did know all of that, and it IS interesting. I am working on a story with a lot of Judeo-Christian inspiration, and in my story there is a literal Beast.

^^ There's so much that alot of people aren't learning in the bible because they're not really reading it with an open mind. Although I love the idea and just whole concept of a horrendous beast with 7 heads, I find the slightly "hidden" meaning far more intriguing.
We look up every thing at our church and learn the real meanings to every idiom and sentence =3
Just think of how much more there is in the bible. XD Don't get me started on the Dragon of Revelations, cause that is an interesting subject.
