How to sew by hand! (Using a simple backstitch)Several people have been asking me to post some tutorials on plushie making, but I thought "what about those without sewing machines?" At any rate, learning to sew by hand is a skill you will need to make plushies, whether you have a sewing machine or not.
For toys and clothes, it is not sufficient to use a running stitch, or else it's too easy to pull the thread, and the fabric will bunch up like a curtain. Also you won't be able to make a strong seam with a running stitch. The stitch you can learn in this tutorial is strong. It's basically how people made clothes and things before sewing machines were even invented! Tried and true!
