Yay elephants...For a project we're doing in my art class, we basically have free reign to do whatever we want to. I'm going to make a sketchbook...with coptic binding and all that stuff.
Anyway, I needed a cover for my book, so I decided to use canvas board. Of course, one cannot have canvas board without something painted on it...
. I was gonna just kinda smear paint all over it and the like, but I read something about coptic binding originating from
Africa, so it turned into this. So far, it's taken me a good three weeks just to paint this 5" x7" piece of canvas board, and when I'm not painting it, I'm packing it around staring at it...
So now it's done, and before I killed it with holes and all for the binding, I'm putting it up here. Muaha
Why you needed the entire history of this thing is beyond me. I apologize for my ramblings.

it feels like it has a pop culture connotation to it, because of the elephant and bright colors. It has strong use of color and contrast as well as many interesting patterns. A very strong design.
