all i do is draw the face/tail/leg stripes, and on the body i use a smaller tool to do flecks through the coat (usually paired in twos)
oooooor if i'm super lazy, i combine pen tool with 'noise 1 bltmp' and 'fuzytastic' tools on sai for a look that can be more like Softail or Dirtrain here

Both, probably surprisingly, are not disadvanterous to cats with the trait itself.
Split tail (polycaudal/bicaudal) is something very unexplored, and is rare to the point many debate its existance though theres apparently been cases in Japan. The apparent cats could move them both at the same time, same direction, but not move them independantly (like moving one up and the other to the side)
4 ears is also safe for cats to have, and can even have them removed without any ill effects. Though the trait was originally coming from inbred cats, so its a posibility that other disabling effects come from that rather than the trait itself if you wanted to play that into a character ^-^''
a good one for 4 ears report wise; messybeast.com/freak-ears.htm but most polycaudal information is reported in books, the online stuff is pretty inaccurate.

And so for four ears, mostly they cant hear from the extra ears?

Yup! If one moved right, the other would too, as its controlled from the base of the tail which is actually just one tail (it sort of splits of down the tail rather than two entirely seperate ones connecting to the spine, and most movement is controlled from the base)Β They may be able to flick one very slightly but full seperating them is unlikely.
And 'four ears' is sort of just a visual term for it aha, 'duplicate pinnae' is the official term, which the 'pinnae' part is simply the skin that creates the funnel 'ear' shape, not the ear mechanism itself. so really all it is is extra skin in the shape of ears : ) so there'd be no extra hearing, though if you chose to change the type of Duplicate pinnae i gave it to make the extra pinnae's on the front of the ears rather than the back, there'd be slight impairment to the hearing. but having them on the back or sides is totally uneffective
