(Also, I'm fond of Egyptian mythology, though I don't know very much about it. I am intrigued to see it referenced in a pine-forrest-meets-the-tropics sort of a setting.)

This is really really well done. I like all the strange plants and that rock that looks like a squatting person. And how the light peeks in through the trees.

Ap-Uat is one of the 2 jackal gods of the ancient egyptian mythologia, he is leading the deceased throught the Night Land to join the kingdom of Osiris. This is a commission, a client told me about a dream and asked me if I could make a painting about it. I posed for the leading guy and I also posed for most of the children from old photos my mum took. As a result, it's a kind of autoportrait, the adult showing the way to the child he was...
