I don't think that Prince Peasley was gay, he actually portrayed the typical attitude of medieval royalty. Β We can see this from him having hair resembling a wig, and having a "I'm-royalty-and-I-can-take-anyone" attitude.Β
What you're probably referring to is his constant flipping of his golden hair and making it shine whenever he makes his appearance(in our time, this would give off a gay aura). However, this is a common display of comedy among male characters who are supposed to be the dreamboats of the story.

I was referring more to poking luigi in the bum, and giving him the rose-and complimenting his attire while doing it. I think nintendo likes using gay guys.
