This was a mask project I built back last November.

In my usual work I mostly work with organic textures and surfaces. Scales, skin, feathers, fur, etc.... My plan with this project was to create a character that was the opposite of those. A mask that was smooth, exotic, at least partly inorganic, and entertainingly alien. This character was the result. I had a lot of fun with this project. Since I sculpted him I've had many more ideas for masks. Some with a similar aesthetic feel, and some not. I really love the process of making masks like this. I find it's a great way to relax and to let my imagination run wild!
