Description
Lamia: Race of snake human hybrids native to the Mediteranean and Vietnam. They descend from a group of ancient humans who were exposed to and mutated by exposure to the blood of kaiju Ouorboros. Males are rare, making copulation with humans common. The largest group is known as the Fateburn clan.Harpies: Winged, birdlike humanoids spawned from human ancestor exposed to the blood and bioradiation of a species of extinct giant eagle native to the Mediterranean and the Americas. The fossil of bioelectric specimen of this megafauna was recently found in Greece and is believed to have some bearing on Ancient Greek myth.
Centaurs: Humanoids with the lower halves of equines. They were spawned by ancient alchemical magic as fighters and transport. The original specimens escaped the magi who created them and built their own society long ago.
Slimoids: Speculated to be spawned by ancient Muan cloning experiments to make a humoid species capable of surviving in water 24/7 due to the threat of an upcoming extinction event.
Merfolk: Two explanations: mutants created when humans were exposed to the bioradioactive matter of kaiju like Manda and Mogilos/Muan experiments made to make race capable of fully living undersea. Mostly living as nomadic tribes for centuries, it has only been in recent times that they have started expanding into large kingdoms, usually in the remains of old Muan cities.
Kitsune: Multitailed humanoids with other traits common in foxes along with a slight aptitude for spiritual magic. They were spawned when human ancestors came into contact with the bioradiation from an ancient species of massive canine kaiju, of which the massive fox Tamamo (Contained on Monster Island) is believed to be a surviving member of.
Fae: The usually winged descendants of a very small species of ancient primates ranged around different but small corners of the ancient world, and who were exposed to the energies of Yggdrasil, the source of all magic on Earth, when it first appeared 75,000 years ago. These primates were exposed to the raw power and bioplasma sap of Yggdrasil, with the Fae being their mutated descendants. These resulting "children" of the small ancestor species had different traits depending on the environment of the individuals who first came into contact with Yggdrasil, (mountains, islands, etc.) Different species include Sylphs, Sidhe's, and the extinct Antine of Lagos Island. The Fae have a deep connection with nature and understand magic, but their reclusive nature and diminutive size has resulted in most of them living a guarded existence.
Dryad: Species of Plant/Human Hybrid humans who live underground. They descend from ancient primitive human ancestors who were exposed to the essence of Yggdrasil thousands of years ago, primarily those who survived the experience without being destroyed by the raw energy. This occurred during a massive exploration by a religious society that worshipped the tree.
Having an aptitude for the power to sense life and magical potential, they are nevertheless reclusive but have began to experience trouble, with increased Hollow Earth activity resulting in incursions by kaiju and the megafauna they feed on into the Dryads underground villages and communes more then in any other century.
Yggdrasil is their main source of religious worship, but recent generations have taken to worshipping the kaiju Biollante.
Dragonkin: Nomadic place with multiple reptilians traits, usually those associated with dragons (A race of megafauna that went extinct in ancient times with a few massive exceptions). While tought with Kevlar-like patches of scales and sometimes gliding wing-like structures, they are slightly hampered by a low birth rate.
They are most likely descended from an ancient order of European Dragonslayers who ate the flesh of and drank the blood of killed dragons in ancient times. A good amount of successful kills were likely done on Dragons already dying of a species wide plague that had a role in dragon extinction; the disease was fortunately non-communicable to humans.
With what is currently known about megafauna biology, the dragon KNA in the blood and flesh fused with and most likely mutated the immune and reproductive systems of those who ate the material, resulting in the birth of the mutated offspring who would be the first Dragonkin.
Dullahan: Humanoids with a head and body that can act as separate organisms. They are possibly genuine supernatural custodians of the next world, or they could be mutants derived from potentially supernatural kaiju like Mukadender. Some of them worship the old Muan God "Kilaak".
Vampires/Chiropteran Sapiens: Primates with with traits of bats and great apes. They have heads resembling both a bats and a mans simultaneously. Their bodies range from being quadrupedal and thick to bipedal and gaunt. They have grey skin with occasional patches of silvery hair along with winged membranes between their arms and legs. Primarily live in cave-like environments. They are primarily carnivoruous but will eat anything rich in iron, usually raw meat with blood in it. They are mutants born from the wombs of human ancestors who were mutated after being exposed to the blood of the kaiju known as "Nosferatu" and its smaller subspecies, the Vlad.
Were: Animalistic humanoids, usually quadrupedal. They have traits like those of predatory mammalian species and usually live away from society, and have a religion and behavioral patterns based on full moons. Believed to descend from ancestor kaiju like the giant kitsune progenitors from Japan.
Octs: An old rival species to Mer, these cepholopod creatures are descendants of massive octopi kaiju like the Krakens and Oodako.
Hotua: Mothra's people. Humans with some insect traits. They descend from settlers from Ancient Phoenicia, Africa, and the Phillipines who fled from their homes during an ancient series of natural disasters at sea, all of whom landed and interbred together on Infant Island.
Efreet: Fiery humanoids with some amphibious traits. They have an aptitude for pyrokinesis and live beneath mountainous areas of the Middle East. They have begun taking a more active role in the world due to Biollante-spawn creatures intruding into their domains. They are believed to have directly budded of from or be the descendants of humans mutated by contact with kaiju Urogora, a massive pyrokinetic salamander.
Zombies: Creations made from the stitched up remains of deceased organism (not necessarily from the same species) as bodyguards and pack mules by Necromancers. Their bodies are filled with a black amniotic fluid in lieu of blood. Their creation is forbidden in most mage societies. There are instances of zombies developing sentience, but this is rare. The remains of Shockirus, a man sized species of lice found on radioactive lice, provide a cheap source of amniotic fluid for zombies.
Ogre/Orc: European species of muscly humanoids, occasionally horned. Believed to be descenants of humans with a Gargantua K-Gene, albeit one not as severe as seen in the Gargantua Brothers.
Monoeye/Cyclops: Subspecies of Orc with one eye. Tend to not have as much power as their compatriots but have far better vision.
Shifters: Mutant species able to change their shapes into those of other organisms, usually to imitate humans. They are rare and cannot turn into something bigger then the sum of ones individual mass.
Recent translations of what appear to be ancient Muan experiments with Kaiju Regeneration cells have resulted in some speculation that they may be related, but this remains a fringe theory until full confirmation can be made.
Yuki-Onna: Humanoid with cryokinetic potential. They have ice growing on parts of their bodies and have forelimbs comparable in size and shape to that of a Gorilla's. They live in cold areas and ice caves, preferring to act in a solitary way.
Oni: Ancient species of horned humanoids with some insectoid/reptilians traits. They were either offspring of the now dormant kaiju known as Ibaraki or were the children of humans mutated by exposure to her blood. Driven to extinction by human hunters, primarily Minamoto Raikou.
