Description
Couldn't find a decent, reliable map of George Martin's amazing world anywhere on the net, so I decided to make one myself. This is the map going by the first 5 books. The extension of Essos between Volantis and Valyria is not given in the books explicitly but I imagine this is how it would be. Perhaps a full Essos map is given in an edition of the books that I don't know of, in which case please feel free to correct me.
After HBO's Season 2 maps please find a more accurate version here: [link]

Wow! The small bit of map they show in the series is nothing compared to the real deal

Blue is never land. Blue is always water. First rule of map making.

But Maester, there is no blue on this map! I did take your advice for the second version though.

Nice! I know I'm not the only one who was tired of only ever seeing this in pieces. As far as I know, you've put it together quite accurately. Good work!

Let's begin this critique with; you're my hero. No one seems to have a good map depicting where everything is.
Now for the other stuff.
I much enjoy maps, and this one seems to be to scale with the ones depicted in the books, so a plus. I also like how you took some creative liberties, and added more detail to obvious changes in environment like the forest, and swamp. Very well depicted. I however, feel that the Wall is a bit north in compare to what it was depicted in the book; then again, it could just be my imagination talking.

Hi thanks for your feedback. Yes I did try to keep the map in scale with the books' maps but I drew this freehand on photoshop and I'm no artist. So the North and the South came about longer and wider than they really should be. Perhaps thats why the Wall seems off to you.
