My submission to MLP-ATG 's newest theme for this week, A Pony and Their Greatest Fear.

This time, I went ALL out for this submission. I was working virtually non-stop on this all week so I could have it ready in time to submit.

And I'm not going to do it again anytime soon.

Just about worn thin doing this much, and the art DID suffer, as I cut just about as many corners I could get away with. Hopefully the effort will still pay off somehow.

Oddly, though, this wasn't my only idea. When I first saw the challenge, I immediately wanted to do a pic that put Twilight in the world of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451. But while I loved the idea, I couldn't for the life of me think of a good way to do it that clearly portrayed what I wanted AND kept to the theme of a pony's greatest fear. So it got scrubbed.

This lengthy comic (about fifty inches long, full-size. Original .psd file is double that length) was my only other idea so...yeah. It was either do this or not submit anything at all.

Anyway, it seems to me that Twilight's GREATEST fear would be to loose her friends, because it's clear to me that now she's discovered friendship, she can't bear the idea to loose it again (part of the reason why I think she goes bonkers in "Lesson Zero"). And since Discord is the one who has come the closest to doing just that, I figure Twilight would not just hate him, but fear him for no doubt trying to do it again if he ever got the chance. As the comic (hopefully) portrays.

Just so we're clear, Spike in the second to last panel is getting the chocolate milk dumped on him, because Twilight's flaying about accidentally kicked it in his face. This is SO poorly portrayed, I know, but at this point, I'm just glad to get it finished enough to be posted in time.

A smattering of the backgrounds used came from and the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic Wiki (where I get a lot of my pony ref pics). Everything else was made by yours truly.

This is the first time I've drawn Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, and Spike. In case that interests anybody.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have a new MLP:FiM episode to watch.

EDIT: This has enough faves and the such now that I don't wanna have to go though and thank every individual user for it, especially since not everybody on dA particularly likes that mentality, so I'll just say thanks to everybody for the faves you've already given, or are about to give, just so I can thank everybody at once and call it a day.

2ND EDIT: This is now officially my most-faved pic, which is definitely better than the last pic, so Fluttershy, if you may...
