Description And now for something a little different.

My entry for and the theme for this week, LITERARY PONIES / PONIES INSPIRED BY A BOOK. Shooting for the latter one here, and decided I should do a MLP/Redwall crossover or whatever. I quickly decided that if I was going to do that, though, I'd have to do something that'd be iconic with the Redwall series, and eventually selected The Legend of Luke because you can't get more iconic than half a boat pinned between two big rocks.

I was originally just going to ponify the book's cast of characters for this, but when my little brother suggested having a pegasi flying up to the boat, I changed my plans and used the Mane 6 instead so to exploit that neat idea.

Rather groundbreaking pic for me, as it's painted entirely digitally, and when I say "painted," I mean it. This is rather different from my usual means of art. Also unlike my other pics, this one was NOT done in Photoshop (save to add the watermark in the corner) and was instead done in ArtRage Studio. The reason being is that it features various watercolor brushes that I've been wanting to try...though admittedly after a little bit, the art started coming out more like regular digital art than watercolor, so some more experimentation will be needed in the future.

But for a first attempt, I'd say this is pretty good.

The Red Wall? Isn't that what came down in Germany, 1989?

But it's what kept the Reds on their side of Europe!

...and everybody else on their side, so it's all a matter of perspective.

Besides, it was the Commies that set up the wall in the first place, not the rest of the world. The rest of world never really wanted the wall in the first place, so that's why everybody was so glad when the darn thing finally came down.

I know what you mean, I would rather like to pull it out and re-read it myself now. I do believe I own a copy of my own now around here somewhere...
