Description My entry for 's contest

The task was to draw a picture which would show how awesome the up-coming game, Tales of Xillia (and/or ToX2), is. I was thinking about some different ideas for a picture and decided to draw Alvin and Ludger working together in a battle and performing a linked arte which is a new feature in the game series. Linked artes are awesome8D Shame I couldn't do them enough justice with the pic;_; But it was great practice for me with poses, backgrounds and somewhat dynamic picture overall even though that part kinda sucked|D

Anyways~ Hope you like it and yay for Xillia coming to west in 2013 and Xillia 2 being released in less than a month

Thanks I love Ludger's design but he's one hell of a pain to drawxDD But I'll draw more of him and other cast after the game's released for sure:3

Can I make a little qritique-like comment? It's a little something that was bothering me for a while now in your works. It's the "hidden" eye lol whenever you draw a character that has hair over his eyes (or eye) it look like he hasn't got it at all. xD Even if something is covered by something it's always worth drawing it under so whenever there is space in between the covering piece, like hair and hair strands, you can that there actually is something underneath that. Either way it looks like there's nothing there. I hope that makes sense and you get my point and not feel offended by it.. I like your art, but that little thing is actually quite a big thing for myself.

I'm always open for feedback and thanks for being honest and detailed in the critique Ludger actually did have the other eye in the original sketch but I left it out in the final picture because I couldn't get it look rightxD So it was partly that and partly because I didn't try enough|D I understood your explanation and I agree, I should draw them both, always. I've been making some progress since last year but I still fall for that mistake too often. It's gonna be my early new year resolution;D

(For future reference, my work is always open for critique even though I don't use the critique feature. Only commission pieces are those I wish not to get critiques)

Glad ^^ Yep, I remember that's something you've been doing for .. well since I know you ahah. I think I might've mention that somewhere in the past even I noticed how you improved Though, it seemed to me like you're going back to that habit of not drawing the eye again. That's why I wrote. In my opinion it's better to draw a bad eye and cover it with hair or material or whatever than leaving nothing. But that's me. Oh, and if you have some problems with drawing I'd be glad to help if I can. ^^ I used to advice and correct my friend whenever she had a problem and felt something's wrong.

(Good to know! Makes perfect sense! This wasn't a commission I hope...? <.<)

Yeah I guess I'm starting to slip back to that habit againxD You need to keep reminding me whenever I do it;D
Hmm that actually sounds pretty good, I could start posting some of my sketches (into scraps) before actually finishing them so that you and others could give me critique and I could fix the mistakes before it's too late. I did that with the pic of Jacal last year and it worked well Should try it again sometime~ Especially now that I'm trying to draw a fancomic of Tales series, I could ask some advice for the pages and paneling from you when I get some of them sketched outxD

(Haha yeah this one was a contest entry so it's perfectly okayxD And also, if you see something you feel like I should know/fix in a future commission piece, feel free to note me about it)

havent used scraps yet, though, stash is pretty cool if you want only particular person(s) to see it and comment on the piece.

woah, this is great! I like how dynamic the whole picture looks and how you rendered the grass and the bullets *__*

Thanks, Ludger's expression was a tough one since he is kinda like... well, designed to be "the player itself" so I didn't know if he would be serious or enjoying the battlexD Alvin was clear~

Yes I did and I think Alvin got a better one this time than last timexDD Though I still would love to see some more of Tales characters' costumes for others than just Jude and Milla... And Ludger, why oh why did he have to get Emil's costume? Only good thing about it is the musicxDD
Are you excited for the Xillia coming to west and the release of Xillia 2 in Japan?

Haha I'm saving up for my own PS3 right now tooxD I plan on buying one in Christmas... Up till now I've been playing with my friends on his PS3 but I want to play these games at home too till midnight and beyond;w;

The grass was made by following this tutorial [link] and the rocks were just something simpler I came up after failing to follow the second part of that tutorialxD I also didn't want to make them stand out too much on the background so I left them less detailed

Aika hyvissä ajoin kuitenkin valmistu, vastoinkäymisistä huolimatta. Loistaisaa, loistaisaa!

Oohoo, tunnelma on kyllä kanssa oikein mahtava. Tekee ihan ruveta mieli pelaamaan... ja kun pakotan itteni odottamaan sitä Xillian eurooppajulkasua (olin jo sormi tilausnapilla PlayAsiassa, kun se ilmotus sen kääntämisestä yhtäkkiä tulikin... dammit, olis pitänyt tehdä se aikasemmin :'DD), niin ei pysty. Nooo... ^^
Ihailen myös kykyä tehdä kaikki noi yksityiskohdat (takin kuviot ja Ludgerin vyöjutut/tuo joku jalkalaukkuhärpäke muun muassa) noin uskollisesti, iteltäni paloi käpy niiden kanssa aika nopeasti |D

Me ennakko-tilattii Xillia viime syksynä ja pelattii kolmestaa läpi:'D Tuli toki halvemmaks ku maksettii kolmestaa. Tosin ite kyl pelkään sitä enkkukäännöksen ääninäyttelyä ni varmaa hankin molemmat, enkuks ja japaniksxD (ostan varmaa kaverilta sen japani version ku seki tilaa sit sen eurooppaversion, niitten kun pitäis tulla samaa aikaa kun kerran Pariisissa ilmotettii... eiks je?)
Joo noi yksityiskohdat oli kyl rasittavan ihanii tehäxD Tykkään näpertää pieniä juttuja kuvii mut meinasin kyl vetää itteni jojoo ku piirsin Ludgerin soljet ja heti perää Alvinin takin kuviot|D Sen selkäpuolen kuvio on vaa niin raivostuttavan ihana. Mietin vaa miten kivaa Ufotablen animaattoreilla on... Siinä yhessä ToS:n bonuksessahan ne jutteli siitä kuka on ärsyttävin/rasittavin piirtääxD (Kratos ja sen vyöpuku tais voittaa?xD)
