Hm geoduck duck? That looks like a scaly heart. Greed must harden the heart.

It's ripped off from a goose barnacle

Hmmm, I've always understood that the Greed spills pearls formed around bits of its own brain tissue, with the biggest pearl stuffed inside its head, blocking proper growth of the brain and weighing it down. Seems I was right.

I've always loved how its head looks like a goose-neck barnacle.

Yeah, I always pictured the entire head being red but this looks better, more barnacle-like. (oddly I didn't even make the connection of a devil BIRD being based on a GOOSE barnacle before now, but now I can't unsee it! XD)

I love how it's big head looks out of specie from it's bird body, looking like an insect's.

The head is just a giant goose barnacle [link]

It was believed in medeival times that they were the immature stage of actual geese.

I remember on the Travel Channel that we can eat those. They look a lot like asparagus.

I love how you did the pose, especially the Greed's right leg.

I always thought the 'scales' on the head -were- the pearls. XD Oops.

I always meant that they drop from *inside* its chitinous head D:

I'll have to fix the description somehow : x

Where do they fall out from? The barnacle opening? Maybe you should try to draw it from an angle where the opening that the pearls come out of is visible, perhaps with one or more of the pearls visible inside.

Me too. O_o

Nah the head is just a big bland barnacle. The brain is "encased" in pearls in the sense that they grow inside its skull, around little pieces of its brain, and then drop out of the head...

And when you REALLY think about it, to me that's actually much cooler.

Wuh D:

I thought saying that the pearls "drop from its cumbersome, chitinous head" was a giveaway that they were internal
