Description
I got my tablet working again yay! So apparently in terms of people, this piece is what I can do with a tablet, whereas this link here ( scythickitty.deviantart.com/ar… ) is my limit with just my finger. Hmm. Looks a wee bit different for the details.
This is one of my many Muses (or OCs or characters or whatever it is youngin's call them nowadays). We don't know what her name is, so we just call her Doorknob, the magical undead door guarding spirit of magical spirtness. Also that's not blood. That's just dissolving said magical spiritness.
Thanks to marmiz and MiniMM for the pre-advices!
Doorknob belongs to me. Any similarities to other characters is purely coincidental.

I have to wonder about that sometimes... The only problem i have with US health care is that it's too expensive for me sure I don't mind the healthcare here but the emergency room can get crowded fast and I've encountered a few doctors where I am that were pretty rude to their patients...
Lol yup XD really? <8D I can't wait to see them or until mh4 comes~! it sounds more promising every time I hear something about the game XD

I think no matter where you go, you'll have some rude doctors. Most places are understaffed and in a hurry, plus given the workload, sometimes the doctor can forget to exercise empathy and caring when they have to get to 50 other patients and deal with angry, yelling parents and cruddy insurance companies. Or just them crazies. When your patient decides to wipe fecal matter on you and punch you for no reason other than to annoy you, that can leave any doctor in a bad mood (even though that should not excuse their poor behavior to other patients). Our emergency rooms here too are very crowded, and often you can wait for hours before you get your "emergency" treated. Le sigh. Healthcare is really expensive here too, not just for non-citizens. I want to say we are one of the countries who pay the most for healthcare, and even though for the most part treatment is good, prevention programs are hardly prevalent, and in some cities, the baby mortality rate is equal to that of a developing country! That is terrible!
On a brighter note, MH! I'm excited too! (plus their healthcare is way better, mega potions heal impaled kidneys and your house doubles as an instant healing emergency room!) I still don't like the color palette of MH4, but hopefully those screenshots just don't do it justice. So far MH4U looks like it aims to be the largest MH yet in terms of monsters (aside from the Frontier series, but let's pretend that one doesn't count since it has a paid subscription), and so far I'm enjoying the music that has been uploaded to Youtube. In Frontier, apparently there's a new tonfa-like weapon, so I would like to see that implemented into MH4U as well. Well, in the meantime, Mario Kart 8 and Smash Bros!

That's true, I'd be pretty upset myself if I had to deal with that many patients in one day.
Oh yeah! Really? the color palette is bad? Hmm... sounds like it doesn't ruin the game too badly XD I haven't listened to any of the music yet but I'll look into it. XDD Aw man, I've been trying to get smash bros for a while now XD the one I have for the gamecube... well I lost like 5 years worth of hard work on that thing <8D *cries* It will never be the same again... That's the worst time to lose everything... you have all the characters and all the maps...

So sad so sad! All those hours spent unlocking characters and stages, wasted! I had that happen to me before on Final Fantasy VII during my second run-through and was trying to get 100% completion. Gah! So frustrating. I guess at least it lets us appreciate functioning memory cards more, and makes us take a step back to think twice before dedicating so much time to gaming and maybe doing something else outdoors...nah! It's gaming time! Game on!
Hopefully the corruption doesn't happen in SSB4! The new characters so far all look really fun to play as, and hopefully technology has improved enough to make some very stable memory cards.
Here's a link to the MH4 OST. It's not the highest quality, but it's a nice preview just to leave on while doing homework and want something different from your usual playlist. www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIW5eL…

Oh man final fantasy? I try to hoard those files away and make sure they don't get deleted. I'm over-protective of my files on several games, even if they are 100% finished :S I hate it when kids who don't know how much time is spent on these files complain that I won't let them muck around with whatever file is mine on the game, and then complain about it. :S I just don't want the same mistake to happen.
I hope not! I plan on buying that game since I might as well try something newer <8D but I'll have to wait and see about the corruption problem... It might just be the memory sticks.
The music sounds awesome so far not to shabby even though it's not the best yet XD

Most verily! I remember we lent Yoshi's Story to my sister's friend once (and I believe you could only have one file at at time on there), so my file got deleted (nooo! All my high scores I spent hours on! It's an easy game to complete, but it's really hard to get the complete-complete!), even though he wouldn't be missing any of the story if he just started from my file. Luckily that has only happened once, and I haven't had any other files intentionally deleted...just corrupted and poofed away. Sadness. Even though it's tedious, there's a certain charm and joy to getting that 100% completion and just knowing it's there!
Definitely! I really like the Frozen Sea battle music so far. It's got a dangerous, exciting vibe to it. I'm not as fond of the remixes of older songs as they don't sound quite as cool as they did in other games or in those fancy orchestrated versions (but it could also be because these are just game rips and not the highest quality), but it's all definitely not bad at all. To me, music is a huge part of a game that could make or break it. I bought Kid Icarus Uprising solely because I enjoyed the OST on Youtube haha. Then on the other spectrum, probably part of the reason why I didn't like Twilight Princess as much as other Zelda games (it's not even on my top 50 videogames list) was because there were only two songs I really liked in it. Go music! Aside from the gameplay, what main aspect of a game really draw you in? Art style? Sidequests and secrets? Convoluted stories with overly deep relationships? Etc?

Oh no! How terrible! There are lots of games still like that... D: little big planet 2 is definitely one of those games I'm protective of, easy to beat, hard to find all the lovely stickers, accessories, and just the stuff in general <8D I already had one big complaint that almost got me in trouble because I wouldn't let this person play it unless I was my own sack boy (first player) :S I lent this same person one of my games and she supposedly lost it... But claimed she found her own on her school playground. D: really?
I might as well try and find Okami then XD such beautiful music that's played on that game. I agree, if the music is really enjoyable I enjoy the game. Huh, you're not the only person who's told me loz twilight princess was not the best. XD my sis certainly likes it so I avoid speaking of this with her. As much fun with the humor, giant battles, and playing as my favorite mario character ever, I just could not get into bowser's inside story as much as the older mario and luigi rpg games because most of the music wasn't really the best. Good music in games is important.

Woah, such a coincidence that she just conveniently found the same game on a school playground? Really? While that is entirely feasible, the odds of that happening are just so low. Did she at least pay you back or compensate in some way for losing your game? Games aren't cheap! And it's a shame that some people don't understand how much time is put into those one-file only games, even as simple as it looks. I know it's really appealing to have their own file, but if they wanted it that much, they really should just get their own game, rather than pushing the goodwill of a friend. >.<
Okami is awesome! Definitely one of my top 5 games of all time, and that probably has a lot to do with the music too. I also played Okamiden, which unfortunately didn't hold a candle to the original, though by no means was it bad. It was Okami at the core, but stripped of all the bells and whistles...and as we talked about before, sometimes it's the little bonus things that turn an average game into an amazing game. I hope you'll get a chance to find and play Okami one day!
Haha, I've also read a lot of people say they adored Twilight Princess since it was darker and more serious, and then I've heard other people say it's an Ocarina of Time wannabe. I did enjoy the character designs and the overworld, but some of the weapons felt "forced" in and gimmicky and the dungeons weren't particularly fun. I feel like there was a lot of potential with some of the NPCs, and so much backstory that could have been explored with the Twilight realm, but it was left untouched. Certainly the game had it's moments, but not enough that I've come to expect out of a Zelda game. Like your sister though, there are a lot of fans of the game who appreciate it for what it is. And yes, good music in games is super important! The mood setting, the nostalgia, the memories...!

Ikr?! that sounded really sketchy when she told me that. No, of course not. >.> it's funny that this happened like a few years ago and I still hold a grudge over it. Yeah pretty much, and after all this people wonder why I hoard my games and my progress on them! I'm not trying to troll anyone, I just lost my trust for borrowing games.
I want to play it so badly~! I think I must've listened to all the music over a hundred times now XD When I get the money I'll be sure to buy it~ XDD
Well I read my sis's loz historia and technically twilight princess is one of the three sequel's from orcarina of time. (Twilight princess is the sequel to majora's mask, sorry! XD) yup definitely, they are all important in video games...~!

Ah poopies, that really stinks. If I were you, I'd probably still hold a grudge as well. It's not so much the act of "losing" the game that bothers me, because things happen and I know I've misplaced some of my friend's things on accident before. But it's the fact that she most likely lied that she found it and refused to return it (or at least give you her "found" version right? She should compensate for her mistake), that's just outright disrespectful. It's not even at least a believable lie either! Goodness! But it's experiences like this that will probably benefit us the most once we're out in the real world. It's unfortunate that we come to even distrust our own friends at times, but it's a lesson worth learning.
Excellent music Okami is indeed! I burned a CD so I can keep listening to it in the car, and also downloaded some piano sheet music as well. Have you heard the piano arrangements of the songs? Quite lovely! If you have a PS3, there's an HD remake of Okami. At this point, that version is probably the easiest to find out of the three at retail, though the Wii version is definitely the cheapest one online (I think it's like $18 US on Amazon right now).
I have the Hyrule Historia book as well! I enjoyed seeing all the different potential character designs in there that they had scrapped. Although I didn't enjoy the game as much, the Twilight Princess section was probably my favorite (aaahhh Midna designs, so much cute!). Still though, I think overall, aside from the wolf gimmick, there weren't a lot of innovations in Twilight Princess, which led people to feel the gameplay and overall story was too similar to Ocarina of Time, yet inferior. Very generic I suppose by nowadays standards (which isn't necessarily bad- if it's not broken, why fix it? Look at Call of Duty and Cooking Mama, even Monster Hunter! Not a whole lot of big jumps between sequels, yet still beloved by their fans). What do you think of the Hyrule Warriors spinoff to be released later this year?

RoseMiriArt In reply to ScythicKitty [2014-03-07 00:34:37 +0000 UTC]
That's for sure. which is strange because it's only this one person who did it to me. Everyone else I hang with and get along with never really asked to borrow anything... (except my sis because we usually borrow each other's games in a trade kinda deal which helps us remember to return things better) Maybe it comes from the term that i've heard once... "Oh he/she will forget that I still have this in a month or so..." wrong! Because more often than not the person that had their things borrowed will recognize it and will probably never trust you again. Especially if they've used it a lot. I have a feeling that's what my little friend was thinking. It's just another form of stealing in it's own right.
Haha XD maybe I should do that, the soundtrack for Okami is really expensive! I've heard some of the piano arrangements before, and the ones I've listened to are really good. hmmm... I'll have to try and buy it that way then. XD
Yeah I guess. I guess it has to do with the same enemy and things. I just assumed it was always supposed to be ganondorf as the main enemy before I read the historia XD I haven't heard about the Hyrule Spinoff but it sounds interesting <8D

Better safe than sorry! I agree, it essentially is just an indirect form of stealing. I don't know how her conscience wouldn't tell her to at least return the "found" copy. They can always hope that the person they borrowed from will forget, but rarely does that happen. It helps us learn from our past mistakes, even if that means trusting people less.
When you do get Okami, let me know what you think of it! I hope you'll enjoy it. It's one of the few Wii games (if you get that version) where the motions don't feel like just another waggle fest. Of course great music, art style, fun characters, and a decent story help a lot! XD
The spinoff is called "Hyrule Warriors" which is basically Dynasty Warriors with Zelda characters in it. I believe it's scheduled for release later this year. The trailer looks rather grainy, so I hope that the final product is a much higher quality. I probably won't be getting it unless the reviews are amazing or there's some lovely multiplayer thing going for it, but it does look pretty cool and will help with the drought of Wii U games.

Haha, it's almost like the saying, "Who needs enemies when you have friends like these?" XD Well, I suppose not quite on the same scale, but the general idea is there. Friends who lie to and manipulate you and take your stuff- even if they're a ton of fun to be around, that's going bring out some trust issues that aren't going to go away.
It's also a shame that the past Nintendo Direct was practically all about the 3DS, but I guess that makes sense since their focus was on games to be immediately released. I'm also curious as to what their "quality of lifestyle" thing is, though we probably won't learn about that for some time. Let's hope that at E3, they have some amazing things to show, or else third party developers are just going to keep leaving. I'm really hoping that the Wii U will have a turnaround like the 3DS did!

For me, there were a lot of great things about the Wii U when it first came out, but unfortunately, a lot of the promises for the system weren't executed well or in a timely manner, which made the first five months of using the Wii U rather unsatisfactory (although I will concede that Nintendoland is a ton of fun with friends and family and demonstrates some great uses for the Gamepad). We'll see what becomes of the system in the coming months! They have a lot of great minds there and I'm sure they'll think of something to make a turnaround of some sort...hopefully sooner than later haha!

I think the only thing that really excited me about was all the games they made for it already. If I were to get the wii u I wouldn't really use the game pad unless needed. That was the main thing that bothered me about it. I might as well connect the 3ds to it if I could.

I was just telling a friend the other day that it would be great if they released a Wii U bundle that didn't have the Gamepad, since most games don't use it anyways. There's like...three games that make engaging use of it. While it is great once you experience it (off-screen TV play is probably my favorite feature of it by far and I use it a ton, but unfortunately this is often overlooked. The controller is also quite comfortable.), I think it would really help sell the system if they didn't have it as a pack-in since it'd be a lot cheaper. More systems sold = more third party support = more people buying! And then if they really wanted to, then they could buy the Gamepad separately, just like people would shell out $90 for the balance board. Kinda like with the 2DS, it's a lot cheaper and the 3D is only really used in a handful of games. Great to have but unnecessary. Eh, we'll see what happens. It seems the Wii U as it is now is selling decently, supposedly better than the PS4 which rather surprised me.
Also I would like to use the 3DS with the Wii U more often as well, though the 3DS graphic capabilities definitely are not on par with the Gamepad. For the games that they made for it already, which ones were the ones that excited you?

Yeah, I think it would be a lot cheaper and a lot better to just buy the game pad separately as well. I like my 3ds but yeah I hardly ever use the 3d function unless I actually feel like it. It makes the AR games look a lot better but I get tired so fast using it.
Well with monster hunters 3 ultimate, the new donkey kong game, and the mario games for sure XD And with the wii u replacing the old wii, I'm beginning to think I need a new one anyways

Same, I rarely used the AR cards after the first week, though admittedly it is a great concept and there's lots of potential there. And same with the Gamepad. They need to start releasing more games that actually use it (plus more marketing), or start selling a cheaper version without the Gamepad. Once people see their friends all having a jolly good time on games that use the Gamepad, I'm sure they'll buy it anyways, but that is definitely not the time now. With so many forms of entertainment nowadays, not to mention a struggling economy, not a lot of people are willing to shell out $300+ for a system with barely any games (the same could be said for the PS4). Might as well wait! Mario Kart 8 is already sold out of preorders on Amazon and some other sites, so at least things are looking up...

Just submitting sketches is good too though, because it lets people see how you approach things. Like I personally really liked seeing some of Bleedman's WIPs (I don't know if they're still up, this was a while ago) and it was really cool to compare what it looked like before with the final product. And your sketches actually look really nice! How do you go about choosing which one you like more? Just it's more finished, or it's more "accurate," or more detailed, or just you like the theme more?

Your on mah lawn since it actually takes up space a whole 3 feet above it's physical appearance!! And on here thar be no brown mage. Only Nana Mage and he is ungry!
I suppose I can post up some sketches, even though most probably won't ever get completed. For choosing which one I like, it just depends. Accuracy doesn't really matter because I'll go over it with more detail later if I like it (like a Dark Souls piece I'm working on. The initial sketch was very off and I went in and corrected things a bit more). It's more just a feeling or mood I guess. Day by day I look at my old sketches and if none of them are calling to me I start sketching something new and the process starts over again. If I force myself to start detailing a bit more on certain projects I end up disliking it and it pretty much ends up in Limbo.

Foolish mortal! Through the great physics of pigons, your lawn has been denied! Look closely as these high definition pigons create an alternate dimension that exists within the lawn yet not on the lawn!
When Nana Mage gets old and over-ripe, he turns brown does he not? Dat ethylene magic! Fueled by ungryness!
That kind of reminds me of this Cyanide and Happiness comic about the creator's curse! Woooo curssseeee! explosm.net/comics/3433/ Wu Feng not included. Shipping and handling separate. Anyways, it is good to always be starting something new and lets you practice a lot of new things! The other day we had a discussion about the problem with a lot of piano teachers in the US, how you have to perfect those two or three songs in one year and end up stagnating and only know how to perform those pieces. However, in other countries, usually they don't drill that piece to 100%, maybe 80-90% is good enough and the students get exposed to a lot more pieces, and ultimately become amazing pianists, not to mention great sight reading and improvising. I've seen that first hand here too, my friends who do their own thing on the piano end up being much better pianists than those who only followed what the teacher said, even if they "passed" a higher certificate of merit level. I think this applies to drawing too. There's a lot more practice going in, and after awhile, no matter how many edits you do to "perfect" a piece, you're not really going to be growing at all after a certain point. Instead of spending another 20-70 hours to tweek minor things (maybe if they were professional or something), that could have been spent on making another perfectly serviceable piece.

No, when Nana Mage gets old he doesn't turn brown. He just takes care of his grandchildren and becomes Nana Nana.
Yeah, for perfecting a piece it's all about the type of artist they want to be. Some people are all about finding perfection and that's how they express themselves (or make money) while others it's more about getting the piece out there at as best they can. Neither technically right or wrong, I tend to lean more against the perfection aspect because I think a little bit of flaws adds character and doesn't tend to detract significantly from a piece.

I think they are lost too. So many things are lost nowadays! I never did find me dentures after they dropped in that one taco unicorn fight with all them volcanoes exploding 'neath us yonder! Arggh, lost they are matey!
Indeed indeed, I agree with you muchly. There's a lot of furniture out there where they don't want completely smooth, even wood, but they want it to have "character" with all the crooks and dark spots. Au natural. And lots of times, it's the prints with the mistakes on them that are worth the most right? Limited edition yeah!
