you can actually use a plugin called "chestnuts" it's hard to find online, but it's only for c4d download.

Model and rendered in Cinema 4D. No greeble was used in the creation of this as greeble is a 3DS Max only plugin.

But the type of style is called Greeble, ever heard of [link] greeblelicious .com/ ?
and there's a plugin for c4d that has been around for a while called Chestnuts that does this, and also another plugin that created Greeble seeds.
