Description
I need more practice with backgrounds so I can create some from my own imagination!
edit: Yes, I understand the issue with the hands. I don't plan to fix it, it's old and I now remember to check my hands in my pictures. Thank you, but please don't continually remind me.

I love the way you did the colors on her fish scales and her fish tail.

She's beautiful. She sorta looks like a young gypsy, doing one of their charm dancing

A simple mistake. Why else? Thank you for being another person to point it out, but I don't need to be reminded. I caught it after upload, and I tend not to backtrack on artwork I deem finished. It's already taught me to pay more attention to which way my hands are going.

This is amazing! I love the colours, the minty green, aqua blue, citrus orange and tints of purple and pinks! I also love the highlights in the hair! This is amazing work, I LOVE IT!!!

I like the bright orange colors, but the blue-green towards the end doesn't seem like it belongs and blends into the background. Maybe just a different shade of blue, green, or purple so it stands out from the background?
I love the costume! Fish-net variants look so good on mermaids, imo.

The fin looks gorgeous! how did you make the scales? I really like the colorchange of the fin, it gives the painting more depth!

Looks great. Would maybe be even better if you put some red or orange in the background to complement the colour on her midsection.

Wow, the colors are great!! The pose also seems quite dynamic but look at the left hand⦠If I don't mistake, you draw a right hand there⦠Otherwise, good job!!

Wow, that's a cool looking dynamic pose! I love her bright colors and graceful tail....all those extra little fins look great, too. She'd look awesome with fingerwebs to complement her fins!

Thank you! I'm flattered. You even looked past my goofed up backwards hand LOL. Webbed fingers would be cool if I wished to implement them on any particular mermaid, but I usually don't. Maybe on another picture sometime. Thanks again!

Very nice! Love the colors, but she has two right hands (sorry for being a critic)

No it's fine LOL. I try my best to take on the pose myself but I missed that part! Oops. I always screw something up, usually hands or feet. Thanks for pointing it out! If I ever make the time, I will fix it.
How I don't notice these things is beyond me - that's why a second eye is so nice, which I presently lack!

This is gorgeous Do you still have the uncolored line art for it?

seaspire In reply to CosmicFalcon-70 [2012-10-12 15:33:29 +0000 UTC]
Did you want to give a go at coloring it yourself? I can clear off all the color and restore the lineart to black. If you do re-color just don't forget to credit and link back to the original! Give me a note and let me know, supply an email, etc.

That did pass my mind but quite frankly I don't have the time to sit down & apply myself to the project but it IS an extremely interesting pose & I love the way you drew the tail...she almost looks like she's doing a sensuous dance underwater!

If you ever change your mind, I'd be happy to let you have a go at it. Thank you so much, I'm glad you see her as such!

Maybe next year when things settle down a bit...things on the domestic front are a little hectic & unpredictable at the moment. But thanks, I've got her in my faves now so I know how to find her again when I want to give coloring a go, I'll send you a note
