Description I always loved TMNT ever since i've read Eastman and Laird's comic books! Over the years, they have been redesigned but i wanted to try my hand on em.

This time, i want em to actually resemble a turtle. LOL. I based the design off of my pet Red Eared Slider. Didnt add the stripes though coz it looked too messy but instead of the red stripe on the ear, i decided to make it reach the eye area and serve as their mask/color marking.

I also decided to give em more than 3 fingers and really sharp claws coz that's what turtles have... pretty useful in fights too. I also made their hands and feet huge coz turtles do have huge distal limbs.

I dont expect people to love this coz i know fans are too attached to the old look but i hope you guys dont hate this.

I love this! Also coincidentally that is the kind of turtle that the turtles are. I kinda think they should keep their mask...

thanks! yeah... never knew why they did the 3 toe thing but kinda is unique since i dont know that many characters having 3 toes and fingers.

Hell yeah! except of course for those snapper/clipper things they got... i still havent had the chance to give a full treatment for my design on TMNT

I actually love the alternative limb structure - you emphasise strange parts of the legs and it's really effective. I bet it was difficult to make a turtle face that actually looked like it was teenage.

For this piece not so... but ive been tinkering with the design for months and i tell you, i spent a lot of time doing sketches making em look right! LOL.

But time well spent i think. glad you like the weird limb structure. Real life turtles have weird limbs so i decided to use that as well.

Thanks bro! Kevin and Laird's original concept was dark and badass but still cartoony though... it was the popular cartoons that made em look soft.

Really glad you approve of my design and hope to do a successful action shot of em 4.

If time allows, i might draw em all four in some action poses.

I originally wanted em four to be different species of turtle (snapping turtle is great for Raph) but it might be too much so i guess color coding will do.

i think he was actually but extremely mutated. Come to think of it, there are a lot of characters from TMNT that would be fun to redesign. Rocksteady and Bebop, Baxter, Krang...

Nice, dude. That's a really interesting idea, having their colors as part of their skin. Also, it's pretty cool that he actually looks like a turtle. They usually look more like the Geico gecko.

exactly... looking back at all the other designs, without the shell and the color green, they cant be recognized as turtles. LOL
