Doing some branching out from ponies and griffons standing around with serious expressions. Also practicing my human and digital skills, while trying out poses for a Sombra's Empire Sagittarius.Oh, and indulging one of my favourite ships (the Twilight being the one from the EQG universe).

I only ever got into it with the introduction of human Twilight/Twilight 2.
As a rule I usually only get into ships that I think offer interesting story potential, more than anything else.
For example GildaxDash:
-the contrast between Dash having grown up in a very healthy home and Gilda, who's from this shithole of a city filled with horrible people
-Gilda expecting Dash to be fine with her behaviour in Griffon Brush Off (has she changed or has Dash)
-Dash being Gilda's only friend, while Dash obviously has little problems getting to know new people
-Gilda being absolutely devastated when Dash "betrays" her
etc.
As for Sunset and Twilight 2, I feel Sunset's character arc is easily the the best in the series, going from what could have easily been Twilight without her friends to guide her on the right path, to seeking redemption to finally rising to be on equal footing with the original Twilight. Her saving Twilight 2 from making the same mistakes as herself and taking her under her wing also continues the theme of the student becoming the teacher we have seen in recent seasons.
Sunset would have to examine if:
-any relationship would be her taking advantage of a much younger and less experienced girl
-any relationship would compromise her position as a mentor to Twilight 2
-whether her feelings are truly for Twilight 2 or for what she recognizes of the original Twilight
etc.
So yeah, tons of story potential, even without adding the possibility of one of the two not being into girls and the other dealing with not having her feelings returned....

But I get your point. You want to have an interesting dynamic with an interesting duo to work off of each other with good reasons to like each other. Which is fairly admirable since I am not a person who has such an open view in the sense that I cannot know what's good for which character. I am not the Love Doctor.

Oh, it doesn't have to be good for the character, quite the opposite.
A couple realizing that they are not good for each other can make for a great story, as can unrequited love.
