This was the first quick drawing done with the greyscale Tombow markers my boyfriend got me for Christmas
While I (of course) need practice, I was pretty happy with it! It was originally a quick sketch done during my lunch at work that I was actually going to scrap, but I wanted to test the markers, so I really quickly inked it! The markers are really nice, and I'm enjoying them a lot. The colors were done with the markers Chris got for me for Christmas as a quick addition xDWhat do you guys think? Should I do more greyscale drawings?Β

Absolutely cute and GREAT drawing my friend!!
Eclipse seems to be very thoughtful and the black mass behind her look like some dark feelings that she has to fight with!
The greyscale drawing matches the emotions in this picture perfectly!
So I think that for a quick sketch that this drawing has a very strong meaning with a lot of feelings!

What inspired your concept for the drawing?
It somehow reminds me of a really old powerpuff girls episode

Honestly, I don't even know xD Having never watched a powerpuff girls episode, it wasn't that! When I sketched it, I wanted to try something new and maybe make it look like she was emanating magic, but I hated the way the swirls (idek what to call them) around her looked, so I wasn't going to do anything with it. When I filled it in, I tried to make it look like ink was flowing out of her, I suppose. But thanks!! I was really happy with how the first attempt came out!

I think I see what you mean.
I guess the "swirls" are like a type of darkness or negativity.
You could call it like "the negate" or "shadow heart"- maybe "bleak heart"? Sorry if these just sound cheesy
