Description
Next try at watercoloring. I didn't like how grainy the last paper was, so instead I used the paper from my sketchbook. Turns out it's not really worth it, as the paint really doesn't blend well together. If the subject matter wasn't so easy this time around, I would have failed miserably. And as usual, colors look muchmuch better on paper.Related content

...I-is it eating grass or drinking water? D:
ANYWAY, this is beautiful. It's amazing how you work so many styles and mediums so well *o*
And now to mass comment on the rest of your pieces....

Eating grass. The whole idea is for it to look so cold you can actually FEEL IT IN YOUR BONES.
D'aw thanks. Well it's like one of those things where if you get good at something everything related becomes a little easier.

Those are nice strokes, you gotta admit. I haven't used watercolor for so long...

The leaves are okay, but the parts where I intended to have the colors blend together didn't. I guess it's back to using the old textured paper.

Yeah finding the right kind of material is tricky...

Nah, though I know for a fact that its weird enough for me to draw something non-fanarty.

Thanks! I didn't want to mix anything, so I used a lot of blue from the tube >> But after a few washes it turned out better than expected.

Yes, I have often tried to draw with watercolours on normal paper, but the paper warps and is unpleasant and the colours don't blend as well, as you can see. If you persist in this path, try taping the paper down on all four edges and giving it a quick light wash to improve the mixing down the line.
I wish there was a little more yellow to offset the very deep blue here, its there, but I feel it could be stronger. However the composition is lovely. Keep it up my sexy biscuit.

I dunno, this paper seems thick enough to withstand it, it even bent less than the watercolor paper I used on my last try (though this time, I used significantly less water). Printer paper will probably screw up even more.
I'll keep your words in mind next time.

Oh man I can't STAND drawing with watercolors, I'm always impressed when people do it well.

I haven't tried tackling other subject matters yet, but landscapes are probably the easiest thing to do.
