Love, Affection, Joy, Relief, Calm, and similar positive emotions expand her aura; Surprise gives it a momentary hiccup of extra extension before it fades; Anger, Sadness, Fear, and other negative emotions contract her aura significantly down to just a few feet around her.
Thus anyone within her circle is able to tell what she's feeling without her having to say a word.
Weakness:
Very inconvenient since she's a very emotional person; even if she keeps a straight face her emotions just...emanate.
Her positive aura extends to 12 feet radius while negative aura shrinks to 3 - 5 feet radius.
She cannot induce others to feel her emotions...they can just sense it as if seeing an object outside of themselves.
Though if a person doesn't know where the emotion is coming from, at most they get confused unless they let themselves get caught up in the emotion. When she's in a bad mood, it can make others uncomfortable.
At the moment she cannot control the size of her aura, it will prolly take a few years meditation and practice to manipulate her aura so powerful emotions related to perhaps a violent/killer instinct can be extended towards a target to startle it while she remains uneffected by the emotion.

It only works with positive emotions, negative emotions will actually detract performance from the people she's trying to help. The Effect can take a minute or so to make a difference. If a person leaves the aura, they have a time limit on the buffer at a ratio of 1:5. So if they basically bathe in a positive aura for a full minute, they have a 5 minute boost starting from when they leave her radius.

Aura Sight

Strength:
She can see other's auras and from their colors can guess what their emotional state could be.
Even if they're hidden behind something, like a wall, she'd be able to 'see' the glow around things with a life-force.
Humans, Flora and Fauna have different auras. Humans' auras range from white to black and the saturated color spectrum, Animals are a pastel color spectrum and plants are often just gray-white, unless dying then they're black.
Weakness:
She has to be in a most tranquil state to see these auras, which only happens when she's got a gun in her hand or has meditated for a half hour or more.
She cannot actually sense what emotion they're feeling, only guess from the color of their aura.
The distinctness of the aura depends on how close she can be to the other. At 50 feet, auras get faint.
When she's caught up in other emotions, even positive ones, she cannot see auras. Thus distractions make it hard for her to see.

Background:
    Ragni's ability activated when she was 10 and had her first crush on a boy in her class. She had confessed this secret to a friend, who proceeded to tease her about it. Deeply embarrassed, Ragni tried holding back the emotions but it eventually ebbed out instead. The boy found out and in a usual childish way, teased her as well. Over time she began to avoid her classmates, not realizing that they could tell what she was feeling until she got a little older.

    Seeing as her expanding emotions only got her strange looks, Ragni settled for focusing more on books and her studies, since those things at least didn't tease her. By the time she was 13 and puberty had started, her parents began to worry about the emotions she projected and encouraged her to sign up for another extra-curricular activity; she had already begun learning classical Indian dance at 8 and she may have liked it but they hoped something more would help her out. She had begun to feel lonely and depressed from the wariness of others and her own unconfidance at approaching her fellow students.

    Ragni didn't want to participate in any sports that involved other people and happened to get the suggestion of a youth program for shooting. At 14 she began lessons for learning how to shoot and it quickly became an activity where whe felt the most calm and clear-minded. Her parents felt an improvement in her mood and further encouraged her to participate at the local Hindu mission they attended weekly.

    It was at the mission that Ragni learnt about meditation practices and on her own accord started taking up the practice sporadically. At first she just got frustrated with it and for long stretches of time didn't use it. Still, she learnt as much as she could about it and the philosophies of Hinduism, attending classes at the Mission until she graduated from high school.

    She began high school with the hope of turning around her social life, but the hopes quickly turned into disappointments during the first week. That is, until a fellow freshman inadvertantly rounded a corner of the back of a building where a small unnoticed garden was growing and found Ragni curled up and crying.

  Unlike most people she met, Lin didn't shy away from Ragni's mood-swings, and was the first to start to notice that her ability to grow plants worked a lot better when Ragni was nearby and in a good mood. Lin was also the only perosn who systematically figured out Ragni's ability and helped her map it out over their four years at highschool.

    The two of them became nigh inseprable, with Ragni helping as she could with Lin's garden and Lin attending all of Ragni's dance recitals and shooting competitions. They even started college together until Lin got an offer from the Aurum organization a little after turning 21. Disappointed but at the same time not wanting Lin to give up on something that seemed so worthwhile, Ragni gave her the best farewell she could. Lin encouraged Ragni to contact the Aurum agency, but Ragni hesitated, saying her parents woud want her to get a degree first; so she said after her graduation she would consider it.

      They remained in contact throughout the year that Lin worked in IAS. After the events of Chapter III, Lin made sure to send Ragni a graduation gift: a specially ordered potted bonsai with instructions on how to take care of it. It'd be the last gift she could give her.

    When news of Lin's death was recieved from her father, Ragni didn't know what to feel. After the stages of grief passed, she contacted Aurum with the request to join them with the hopes of continuing what Lin had begun. She admitted her ability probably wasn't of great use to them but she was willing to work as hard as possible to become useful to them.

Ambition:
    To continue Lin's desire to help as many people as she can...and perhaps get a handle on her emotions.

Specialized Skills:
    + Markswoman: She can use guns after taking classes, attending competitions and practicing like a madwoman. On her 18th birthday, she got the Colt Revolver she'll have with her on all cases.
