Description Halloooooo! This is a tutorial on how to make Kairi's keyblade True Hearts! I had so much fun making it... (even though I went through a couple of heart attacks ¬_¬'' oh god...) And I find Kairi soooo cute (she has red hair!! O_O) and her keyblade is so beautiful! I love cosplaying her! Anywho! I hope this comes in handy for anybody who cosplays as Kairi and makes her keyblade! XD If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask meh! I'll be glad to help!

One more thing! If you happen to use my keyblade as a model, give me some credit? o.O Pweeease?

And don't steal my idea! This is copyrighted! Haha! X3

Have a wonderful day! ^^

You mean the S shapes? I don't have them anymore... if you mean the handle that you grab on, it's just the dowel rod itself. Hope that helps!

This is very detail. I love craft so I may make it for couple cosplay with my boyfriend. Him as Sora and me as Kairi. He got the keyblade from anime shop so I think I may either make it or just wear costume and give up. It'd be great if I can create something like this!! I need miracle for this!

I love that you're cosplaying with your boyfriend! <3 I do the same! This is a pretty long prop to make but if you have time it's really fun! Whatever you decide to do, I hope it turns out great!

I should have at least few months but I live in UK. I just worry I can't find the stuff and it won't turn out how I want to. I did make Teen Titans-Raven badge thing on her clothes. It came out a bit heavier than I expect. Now I don't know what to do.

Well there are always different ways to achieve the look of her keyblade, I'm sure you'll find nice things to replace if you don't find all of the materials! ^_^ Good luck and stay motivated!

This is amazing! Did you use the carpenters glue to attach the model magic flowers/leaves?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to 4avatarlov [2014-01-18 04:35:00 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! No for the model magic stuff I just used hot glue... Which makes me wonder if I mentioned that in the tutorial >///< The only thing time I used carpenters glue was for the elaborate L shape at the base that snapped... But I don't see any reason not to use it for the flowers and leaves if you want!

Wow! Great tutorial, definitely want to give this a try! ^^ (and is her keyblade really called True Hearts? I always thought it was Destiny's Embrace.)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to TheDoorWithin [2013-12-26 01:37:19 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! Actually you are right, her keyblade is called Destiny's Embrace... It was rumored to be True Hearts at the time I made the tutorial. The name Destiny's Embrace was confirmed later on and I pretty much went "doh!". I would love to see your keyblade when you finish it!

Wow being a while ago I don't quite remember... I think I meant a 1 inch by 6 inch dowel rod... Makes sense I think let me know if it does

rainbow-mix-brony2 In reply to SerenityPhoenix [2013-12-02 20:18:07 +0000 UTC]

also how did you make the keychain for it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to rainbow-mix-brony2 [2013-12-02 20:45:10 +0000 UTC]

I mention it more or less in the last big paragraph to use a paperclip to secure the keychain to the end of the blade with the string that holds the charm. Since you mentioned you were doing Aqua's, I would suggest using the links from the chain to properly hook it on using pliers and such. Does that help? I'm so bad when put on the spot! Let me know if you have any more questions! ^_^

thanks. its ok im like that too.on last one. what were the colors of the paint you used

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to rainbow-mix-brony2 [2013-12-03 19:51:54 +0000 UTC]

I used acrylic paint. I'm sure you can find a complete kit with many colors for cheap and if you have good paint brushes, they leave a nice paint finish.

rainbow-mix-brony2 In reply to SerenityPhoenix [2013-12-03 23:52:13 +0000 UTC]

can you remember the numbers and or names of the paint?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to rainbow-mix-brony2 [2013-12-07 20:49:30 +0000 UTC]

I can't recall them... However most of the colors were mixes of two or three colors... So anything in your local craft store should do the trick! Also a tip, you will need a lot of white and yellow!

nice keyblade

btw, what alternative can i use for primer to coat the wood?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to expkeyblademaster [2012-08-12 16:33:17 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! ^_^

I'm not familiar with an alternative... I suppose you could directly paint with whatever paint you have but it might take more coats because the wood will soak it up... Let me know if it works out!

hello :3 just wanted to say that you made a really good tutorial i was really looking for something like this just a question: the model magic, is it a heavy material? i need mine as light as possible XD

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to ariizu-ichigo [2011-11-23 04:49:58 +0000 UTC]

Hi! Yay I'm so happy you enjoyed my tutorial! Haha model magic? It's sooooo light!! It's lighter than a pillow! No really... That stuff weighs nothing and it's fun to play with! If you need any help or support, let me know! When you're done, I'd love to see your creation! ^^

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ariizu-ichigo In reply to SerenityPhoenix [2011-11-24 12:21:50 +0000 UTC]

ooh okej thank you <3 another question: is it strong? im going to travel at least 550km with train for the competition so i cant let it can break before that XD my creation is a 1.80m long chainsaw with a lot of details so you can understand it cant be fragile

and sure i will post a photo of the whole cosplay when im done <3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SerenityPhoenix In reply to ariizu-ichigo [2011-11-24 16:25:55 +0000 UTC]

Ok... model magic is really fragile, like if you make thin and detailed stuff, it might break! Solution? Crazy glue! Carry it with you at all times in case you bump it or whatever... My keyblade itself is strong but it's the flowers sticking out that are weak! Also to transport it, you're gonna have to wrap it in some way using cardboard boxes and string to keep it from getting ruined during your travel. I'm really excited about your chainsaw! And competition?! I hope you win!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ariizu-ichigo In reply to SerenityPhoenix [2011-11-24 19:26:44 +0000 UTC]

oki now im really afraid it will break
but it is not much that are sticking out XD so it maybe will be okej
...do you think i can cover it in something transparent after painting to make
it strong? like glue, nail-polish or sealing wax maybe?

thank you <3, me too but its not a well known character so i don't think i will ^^''
i haven't found anyone cosplaying her yet and i have never done a cosplay before XD
that in itself will be a challenge.
if you wanna see her: [link] (plz dont you make her before next year, if wanna make her too ówò )
as you can see, The Friday in herself is not standing out so much, only her weapons ^w^'' but she suit me so well people say

SerenityPhoenix In reply to ariizu-ichigo [2011-11-25 01:54:36 +0000 UTC]

Wowowow! She's hot! Don't worry I won't cosplay her, she's all yours! So, since the prop is pretty big already, the model magic shouldn't be fragile like mine... Painting it hardens it already so that should be enough. You can add a top sealer to set the paint and make it glossy and shiny!!
