Description
This is the transmutation circle that my fan-character for HagaRen uses for Air alchemy. Her name, if anyone cares to know, is Mireille LaNoire, and she's a Major General in the military at the Southern headquarters. (Yes, she's French; no, France is not on the map in the FMA world.)The symbols within the circle here are actual symbols used in alchemy (I've been doing tons of research about it lately, and I even bought a book about it), and almost all of them have something to do with air.
Circles: Duh, it's a transmuation "circle"; but circles usually represent the flow and continuity of life in alchemy
Eight-pointed funky star: Represents "creation"
Triangle with a horizontal line near the top: Represents the element of Air (I connected the second triangle to the bottom of it just because it looks neat)
Eagle: A common representation of the Air element, especially in old alchemical pictures (Earth is a lion or ox, Water is a fish or a whale, and Fire is a salamander or dragon)
The "M" symbol: The sign for Scorpio, which represents the alchemical process of Separation, which is associated with the Air element
The "male gender sign": The symbol for Iron, the metal associated with the Air element (and also with the process of Separation)
The crescent moon: Alchemically, it represents silver (Although it has nothing to do with Air alchemy, it looks pretty)
The "target": Actually supposed to be a sun, it represents gold (I added this 'cause it looked pretty, too)
So, that expains it... I'm sick of typing, so farewell! (If anyone wants information on alchemy or alchemical symbols, I've got about 20 pages of it from various sources that I can send to you. *EDIT: I LOST THIS INFORMATION WHEN MY LAST COMPUTER DIED. Sorry for the trouble.)
Here's a link to my FIRE-based transmutation circle ( [link] ) and my EARTH-based transmutation circle ( [link] ).

Well, I read from a lot of different sources (although I lost all my links and stuff when my computer crashed awhile back), but the book I referenced to for some of it is this one: [link]

Cool that you've made your own alchemy circle like that. I'm trying to make stuff like that too so do you mind if you can send me the info about alchemy/achemical stuff you specified above? Thanks very much... My e-mail is on my page.

I'm really sorry, but last time my computer died it took all of my alchemical information with it. I apologize profusely! >_>

yep...she's seriously plotting out how she's going to make a homonculus, but it takes two entirely undisturbed periods of 40 days, and the materials are either hard to get or are just plain weird to ask for (like blood, semen, and a freaking lot of horse manure.)
although she's not as interested in making the Philosopher's Stone (which is even more complicated) she has instructions for that, as well...you need mercury, urine, gold, silver, and, among other weird things, "the very pure menstruum of a prostitue woman."
....yeah. she's definately creepy. (but i guess that makes me creepy, too, for helping her, hehe...)
so... i'll try to find you a link when i'm not on my school computer (which blocks all sites with alchemical information but Wikipedia because of being "Non-Traditional Religions and Occult and Folklore".)

Me & my friend have talked about alchemy a few times...I've been researching it too, and there's this one site that has a lot of info on doing alchemy...But probably different. Here's the site if any of you want to check it out -> [link]

Yeah, I've been there before...it's really neat (and informative)! ^^
My sempai even found some papers with actual instructions on how to make homonculus and the Philospher's Stone...it's really screwed up. I'll have to find the link again later for you. ^^

Thanks! I've been obsessing over alchemy lately...I wish my chemistry class had a few extra letters on the front of it...
