A redesign of an original jaeger I made a while ago. Thought I'd have another go at Zephyr to see what a few more years of experience could do. Turned out pretty well, I think, even if it's just a sketch.In any case, I also decided to have a go at re-writing Zephyr's fluff, which you can check out below. Basilisk Zephyr is supposed to be one of the earlier Mark IV Jaegers-- she shares the more straightforward design philosophy of the Mark IIIs, yet also displays some of the flashiness and self-assurance that would characterize the other coming Mark IVs. This was shown in Zephyr's combat style, which mainly revolved around a varying selection of high-impact body slams, focused gunfire to sensory organs and soft tissue, and the ever-versatile folding cutlasses on her forearms.
Despite her high power output and flexible tactics, Basilisk Zephyr would eventually fall on her eighth combat deployment, due to the Category IV she was facing possessing an acidic ranged attack that gutted her torso internals.

Super cool.
The information is pretty good, and fits well to a Jaeger that could very well be called cannon in my eyes.
Although the weight might be a bit screwed up. And I'm thinking about the entire weight system that different Jaeger of pacific rim got. Not necessarily you're Jaeger's weight.
To put it in retrospect; Taccit Ronin, a mark 1 Japanese Jaeger with 3 in armour weighted about 7'000 tons or so.
While Cherno Alpha a mark 1 Russian Jaeger with 10 in armour, weighted about 2'400 tons.
So as you can see, something is clearly off here. XP
I find the weight of cherno Alpha more reliable, since the Jaeger had more screen time, and it's weight corresponds to that of Striker Eureka, Crimson Typhoon and Gipsy Danger.
All of which being lighter than Cherno, which was built like a tank.
Anyway, I really like Basilisk Zephyr's design, and 7 kaiju kills is pretty impressive. Trytix approves!

Well, at 2400 tons, Cherno would be about as dense as Styrofoam, so I tend to lean more towards the figures offered up by jaegers like Tacit Ronin, Romeo Blue, and Horizon Braze, who're all in the 7000 ton range. It just seems more realistic to me.
And yeah, 7270 kilotons is a bit much. I've scaled it back down to flat tons, which fits better with the aforementioned jaegers.

the only Category IV that possesses an acidic ranged attack that i know of is Otachi.
