Yeah.  I had a falling out with the person I was making them for, so I posted the work I had completed and left the rest up to them.

I know this is really late, but they also tried to get me to work on their mod [for free, may I add], even though I clearly do not draw in this style and I offer commissions for people who want my art.
They would literally message me every 3 hours asking if I was still there and keep talking about their mod, like I cared/knew anything about Hexen in the first place. Eventually I just deleted their contact and that was the end. XD

Ah, sounds about right, yeah.  I enjoyed working on it for the most part, but when I was told I wasn't any help do them if I didn't download and play their mod/learn the tools they're using so I can implement the sprites myself, I realized I was just 'working for exposure' as it were.  I got a lot of complaints that the sprites didn't fit the Hexen style.  Of course not, it's an anime fan-character from Final Fantasy, and the only reference I had for him was a sprite someone else had already made they'd said would be fine to use as a base.  Also informed them that he was in the beta phase without proper shading, I was just getting his posing proper, but I was hit with a time-crunch for Christmas.

The nagging was a thing, yeah, and I did the same as you.  "Sorry, this isn't the best way to treat people dishing out effort for free on a project you requested.  The sprites I've completed are free for you to take and edit as-is, but don't contact me further, please."

This. They tried to get me to download and play the mod and change my art style for free. I already had other things to do, why should I play someone's mod if I'm not even being paid for my time to test run it XD They were also talking about downloading something off Steam, even though I don't have a Steam account.
That's a pity, I'm sorry to hear that you got that sort of treatment. ;-; I personally didn't draw a single pixel for them because I was too busy, but the nagging did it for me just when I was about to start doing something. Plus I was on vacation.
Either way, the work you did was amazing, even if they didn't deserve it. ;v;

If someone wants to nag me about art, they must buy that right. XD
