My first Wei character.I love his poem very much.
The only thing I'm not forgiving him was the way he treated Zhen Mi (his wife) in real history: you see he and Zhen Mi so loving each other in DW, right? Sorry to disappoint you; that was not the case.
Night scenes kil me.

his wife doesn't have a first name -- women's names are not recorded in Chinese history. Zhen is her last name ^^
Zhen-ji means "princess Zhen"
Zhen-mi means "Zhen the water goddess"
both are just how people referred to her, not her name

because Ancient Chinese normally don't keep a record for female names, people have to call them other names. Zhen is the last name, and she was called "Zhen shi", which means "(someone's wife) from Zhen family". Zhen Ji is the name Japanese give her, which means "princess Zhen". Zhen mi is what Chinese would call her, and "mi" means "water goddess" -- a reference from Cao Zhi's (Cao Pi's younger brother) poem.

Zhen never cheated on Cao Pi. It was Cao Zhi who had affection for Zhen, and wrote a poem about a water goddess whose image was based on her. Everybody, including Cao Pi, new about it, and then there were rumors that Cao Rui was actually Cao Zhi's son, instead of Cao Pi's.
Zhen was a person of high morality . She respected Cao Pi's mother, and Cao Pi's mother asked her to pacify the bitter battle for the crown between Cao Pi and Cao Zhi (Cao Pi's mother [who is also Cao Zhi's mother] is in favor of Cao Zhi). Zhen agreed that brothers should not fight like this, therefore she tried to persuade Cao Pi. But in this way, many would believe that Zhen did not fully support Cao Pi, thus making Cao Pi more suspectible to the relationship between his brother and his wife.
That was how the relationship between Cao Pi and Zhen went sour. Pretty sad.

He did. Letting her commit suicide after Zhen wrote a poem complaining that even though Cao Pi is in favor of Guo, he should not forget his true wife. Cao Pi was extremely displeased, thus he sent her poision.

Guo was Cao Pi's concubine. She became the queen after Zhen's death.
Zhen did not go to prison. Cao Pi sent her poison, so she drank it.
If Cao Ang didn't die so early, everybody would be happy.

This is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL picture of Cao Pi and definitely one of the best I've ever seen.
I rather like the crows too.
I've never liked NuWang. I actually thought Zhen Ji was rather suitable for Pi. Though in the end, I believe Pi made her commit suicide. *sigh*

And the worst thing was, Guo nvwang made someone put a piece of surgar in Zhen's mouth after she died, so that ants and other insects would eat up her face.
A man really cannot have a woman who does not fully support his ambition; that's why he chose Guo in the end. But he still made sure that Zhen's son inherited the crown, could count as a form of lamentation, maybe?

Wow... this looks great; Cao Pi is one of my favorite Dynasty Warriors characters, and he looks so evil in this pic... awesome. lol
And yeah, I know the whole story about how it went with him and Zhen Ji historically/realistically -- I own the Three Kingdoms novel, so... yeah. I definitely prefer Koei's version of Cao Pi and Zhen Ji's relationship compared to the real thing. xP

I read about him, he's SO evil!! If he really actually loved Lady Zhen, I don't think he would've believed the lies that evil woman, Guo Nuwang. Oh well, at least Cao Rui became king after he died.
