A-hem," Lazga cleared her throat, just in case they were hoping she would go away. The old ozcura leaned on her halberd as she peered down at the scene of shameless cookie debauchery in front of her. Grey orc children - ozcurillas - brought back memories to be certain, but also annoyance; they weren't even any of her descendants. In fact, they looked like ozcurillas from the neighborhood. In the house she was supposed to be guarding!

"It was his idea!" came the quick protest from several of the ozcurillas at once. There was no doubt, of course, as to the HE they meant. The young master; a full dark elf instead of a mixed-blood ozcurilla brat. The only reason Lazga couldn't send the pack of cookie thieves scurrying for shelter. A full elf, even a child, outranked her in the relentless racial hierarchy of Zaghal.

"Did he now," Lazga muttered. The Drowling, 'young master Gar’rin', looked rather embarrassed, which made Lazga want to box his ears and tell him to stand up straight.

"Yes, o-of course," Gar'rin squeaked, while his partners in crime giggled and continued helping themselves. "Uh, i-it was surely a test. O-of... something... Uh, anyway it was definitely my fault-- um idea!"

Drow boys! Lazga sighed. The brat-- the young master-- was going to be a student at the Arcane Academy for Sataan's sake. He ought to take credit properly, or, if he intended to try and escape blame, at least he should not sit around like an idiot waiting to get caught.

Especially if that jar full of cookies had, in fact, been some sort of test by the Honored Matron of their House. The Honored Matron was the kind of Drow who liked tests of a subtly cruel manner, and Lazga suspected this was why the Young Master's association with the local ozcurillas was tolerated. The Honored Matron had just smirked when told about them, and said something about the lessons time would teach with unsurpassed cruelty, and cared about the subject no more. And Lazga did not understand, but obeyed; though this obedience did not mean she enjoyed their presence.

"Who told you it waz a test... Young Master?" Lazga rumbled.

"Faerri--" Gar'rin started, glancing at an ozcurilla with pale blue-grey skin and her hand buried in the jar.

"Before or after you comez up with 'your' plan?" Lazga wondered, disappointed that he'd been baited so easily. And it had to be Faerri, didn't it. A grey orc child with more than a little elven blood just multiplied the trouble either of those two things could cause on their own. Having whelped more than a few ozcurilla pups of her own, Lazga was suspicious of anything which aspired to be even more hazardous.

"Uhm." In Gar'rin's defense, he could at least see where this was going. "Maybe let's not talk about my plan any more. U-uhm, how about we talk about how great these cookies are?" he tried instead, holding one out.

"I really couldn't," Lazga protested, palming the cookie and vanishing it into her sleeve.

"Maybe," Gar'rin tried, with a hopeful expression and the offer of another cookie, "We could just forget the whole thing?"

"I dun' knowz what you meanz," Lazga protested, making the other cookie vanish just as quickly. She fought the urge to roll her eyes as it took Gar'rin a moment to register the intention behind her words. The Academy was going to eat this Drowling alive...

But at least she'd done her part to teach the importance of bribing guards. If she had to put up with this at least she was getting paid.

I'm already delayed XD

The prompt was Guard or Drow Guard. Decided to go -based on Discord suggestions- with a guardian of the drow: in this case, an old Ozcura grey orc from Zaghäl. And a small pack of ozcurillas, the grey orc children: in Zaghäl, some having quite a lot of dark elven blood, they could often pass for dark elves if not careful!

And a problem faced by any place with Ozcurillas: if you don't take care, you may get them everywhere!
