COMMISSIONS TUMBLR | INSTAGRAM | TWITTER | KO-FI | ETSY | REDBUBBLE | INPRNTPOKEDDEX: YOUR CHOICE! VOL 2 has officially begun! During January 2019 I will draw one Pokémon each day based on the suggestions that you guys have sent me. Each Pokémon has been chosen with a poll so all the power is in your hands. Also by your request I will be submitting each painting individually. Usually I just post them as a single dump but I decided to try something different. Let's see how this works! I might still post a compilation of all paintings when they're done.
The first Pokémon to be drawn was the Bug type of your choice, Yanmega! I really like this Pokémon, it's sad that it's so underrated. It could have really used a boost when mega evolutions were still thing - because Mega Yanmega would just sound funny and because it would have been cool to have a Bug/Dragon.
Anyway, very straightforward design, based on various dragonflies, especially the prehistoric meganeura. Also with a dash of a green darter. Dragonflies are really cool and I had a blast drawing this one!

Y'know, a while back I took a look at some Norse mythology, and I've always thought that a Bug/Dragon type would be a fitting typing for a Nidhoggr-inspired Pokémon.
Dragonflies are some of my favorite kinds of bugs, too - I get stoked whenever I see one. Love the way this turned out. ^_^

That kind fo Pokémon would be cool. I think Zygarde (50%) was intended to be the Nidhoggr-inspired thing though.
