*FINISHED! Bit of the RP that inspired this from 10.03.12...

"I can't say I like the fighting... I left Grandesque before the war, you know." He took a seat, his tail twitching. "And my father was born of Skrekrill; he approved of my departure. I hold much respect for his upbringing. He found his purpose in Grandesque with my mother, and I hope to find mine here. To say that this war was of totally of our cause, though... If you slept a night in this land, you would understand. Most Skrekrill aren't evil." He stood to his full height to intimidate Milvus. "But we will fight to live." He snapped at Bernie with his hooked beak. "Arrogance! Honor is nothing. Cause is everything!" His body began to tense up. He was becoming angry.
Bernyll: Brought up short by Roc's outburst, Bernie narrowed his eyes. Stupid traitor, what did he think he was? "Milvus? I'm going to get some Grandesques and bring them here, they should be notified that the Skrekrill are coming as well." Hoping and praying that Milvus could take care of Roc, Bernie set off, desperately trying not to turn back and butcher the lion-gryph. I'm not ready, not yet. Just watch you stupid Skrekrills, I'll grow up and be the biggest baddass you've ever feared. Nothing can stop my awesomeness, just you wait and see. Calling out, "Milvus! Don't kill him until I get back, I want to pummel his ugly beak first!"
Bernyll was not helping the situation. He was gone before Milvus could respond to his parting statement, more Grandesques… that would help everything surely? But in reality how could it be helped? What was she hoping to accomplish with this confrontation? The same sick disbelief that had flooded her when she first learnt of Roc’s defection was starting to overcome her anger. “Cause Roc? What cause can justify this? Not matter what wrongs you fight to correct or beliefs you try to uphold, it is the ACTIONS you take which truly matter! If Skrekrill takes no joy in such destruction, like you say, then surely there must have been another way, anything other than this.” The eagle gryph loomed over her, he was at least a head taller than her and Gods only knows how much heavier. He would destroy her in a fight on the ground. Still, she met his gaze, she was not afraid of him.
Roc prepared his body to pounce. "You wouldn't understand. Grandesque... Too lazy. Order, purpose, power... I will kill if I am told to. I'll kill you too. With dignity in blood." A low rumble prepared itself in his chest. "It will be a good death. Honorable for a Grandesque." There was blood even in his gaze now.
Milvus knew the fight was coming now. Roc was crouched low, ready to attack, his entire body tensed for the coming struggle. Milvus felt hatred start to burn in her chest, “dignity in blood? If you had ‘partaken in the fighting’ Roc, you would know that there is no such thing. Blood is cheap, and easily spilt. Any mindless brute can maul another to death. If you had fought, for your true aery, or for you new one, you would know this! And you DARE call me lazy! That I have no purpose!? There may be weakness in Grandesque, those that have no direction and purpose, but it only means you should be strong, and carve out your own!” Milvus tried to block the fear and sadness that edged into her mind. She was going to die. Wounded, outnumbered and over-powered, she could not win this fight. She would never see her family again… Snarling she sought the rage that got her through all her other battles. Roc was not a friend, this was not a misunderstanding, he was one of THEM and she was not down yet!

*EDIT 19.04.12 - Many thanks to everyone thats given me feedback! Especially Rydicanubis who did an ace redline on Roc. So the lines on both have been changed and they have their marking too now, they looked a little nekkid without it!

*EDIT 22.03.12 - now with colour

Sooooo I think that with all my efforts to try and get better at backround drawing, I've gotten a bit complacent about getting better drawing actual figures with all their anatomy and textures etc...

so I'm currently trying to do some small pics that focus on characters, no backrounds or anything just to improve/practise my creature doodling.

This is a scene from one of the RPs I did with my windsonde character Milvus [link] , the other gryph is *ErithacusRou 's Roc [link]

If anyone would be kind enough to give me some feedback on the lines before I start colours/textures then I'd really appreciate it!
