This picture in some way brings out a lot of the fears I have in my life as well as perfectly emulating the horror of Cthulhu itself. Well done.

I am creeped out by Cthulhu, but at the same time fascinated by it. This picture creeps the hell out of me! xD A little boat and under the water is the giant beast!

When I was young I used to imagine enormous monsters lurking beneath the surface of the water. The darker and murkier the water, the more I refused to swim in it! You brought my childhood nightmare to life! Great job!

Amasing
I imagine Cthulhu emerging from the waters, in the stormy night, but only his silhuette can be seen through the mist. The horror of starring to something taht you can not see, but you know that there is something, to great to be real, unbeliveable, unnatural. The horror.
Great work
i've fav it

This is great. Much more stream lined than most other versions of Cthulhu. He looks more alien and a thing of water and dimensions. Lovely work.

I agree. I have an irrational phobia of seeing large things underwater.
Even sunken ships.
It terrifies me.

I get that too, any large things in large spaces- when I was younger I was afraid to look at the sky because I thought the clouds would take me away
π: 0 β©: 1
TheGodofPegana In reply to Joethramon [2011-10-26 23:38:45 +0000 UTC]
Awe of gigantic things has often been the origin of religious worshipping. In Japan for example everything that was enormous (like a rock) was considered sacred. The opposite belief is found in Western cultures, where gigantism used to be a criterion for monstrosity, from awesome it goes to awful. Your cloud thing is actually very poetic. Almost as though you're saying you feared "falling" into the sky.

Joethramon In reply to TheGodofPegana [2011-10-28 13:29:22 +0000 UTC]
Fear of 'falling' into the sky is pretty much exactly how it felt- I guess its all to do with human psychology, fear of the unknown and so on

Got that aswell ... huge open seas sacres me, mainly for the "unknown" factor on what is it you don't see bellow D:
