Story

It was a warm, bright morning somewhere in South Marinia, Mellow, Alan and Walker would all be on the beach, resting and rolling about on the soft sand. Mellow and Walker would be visiting the South Marinian coast for the day having come from another island although Alan wanted to show them a coral reef, something Mellow nor Walker have seen before, he described the beautiful and vivid colours to the other two stallions and asked if either of them would join him under the waves in the sea.

The three horses all stand up, Walker and Mellow facing Alan, the horses giving themselves a good shake before replying. Walker was still fearful of being submerged underwater and adamantly says no, backing up a little. Mellow on the other hand while a tad shy, steps forwards and nuzzles Alan's nose. Mellow loves to swim and would happily join Alan, however Mellow hasn't had a lot of practice swimming and holding his breath underwater. He'd tell Alan this while keeping himself close to him.

Alan would nod softly and looks over to Walker, asking him if he would be okay going with Mellow which Walker nodded before laying down on the sand, resting his chin on the soft ground, his long, soft brown mane resting on the ground beside him.

Alan would then notion to Mellow to come along and turns around to trot to the shoreline, Mellow following close behind. Once Mellow catches up, Alan would step into the clear, teal lukewarm water, just the colour of the water alone fascinated Mellow, he hadn't seen such bright and teal coloured water. The two horses would wade deeper into the clear teal water until the ground beneath them drops, Mellows long, soft brown mane and tail would float on the surface of the water as the water goes up to his chin, Alan's long, silky pearly gold mane also floating on the surface of the water.

Alan would stop and floats in the clear teal water with Mellow, kicking his legs gently to keep himself still, Mellow would swim around Alan, keeping eye contact with him. Shortly after Mellow swims around infront of Alan and faces him, dunking his muzzle underwater, blowing bubbles, Alan would do the same and dunks his muzzle underwater. As the two blew bubbles, Mellow would shift closer and bumps his nose into Alan's gently, the two would stay like this for a moment and looks into each other's eyes before lifting their noses out of the water, keeping contact as they do

"Follow me..~" Alan would say to Mellow reassuringly, Mellow would close his eyes and the two horses then take in a deep breath before dropping underwater. Mellow would float just under the surface for a moment and darts his head around, his eyes still closed, Alan would look up at Mellow and swims up to him, nudging his cheek gently to let him know he is there. Mellow reluctantly opens his eyes and is surprised to find the water isn't too hazy, Mellow would turn his head to look at Alan, mumbling softly as bubbles protruded from his nose. Alan would nod and notions to Mellow to come along before diving down towards the bottom, Mellow following close behind.

As the two horses dove down, Mellow's long, soft brown mane and tail would float and flow upwards underwater as does Alan's long, silky pearly mane and tail which would float and flow upwards also. Mellow would keep following, feeling a tad nervous as he hasn't had much practice holding his breath. but he tries to hold his breath for as long as possible.

Not long after though Alan and Mellow would be near to the bottom as the bright and vibrant coral suddenly appears infront of them like a burst of colours. Mellow's eyes widened a tad as he saw the beautiful and colourful coral infront of his eyes. Alan would float beside Mellow and smiles softly at him, Mellow would look back to Alan and smiles also. A stream of bubbles would rise from Alan's nostrils for a moment as he took in the dazzling coral reef with Mellow..

Suddenly a flash of bright orange caught Mellow's attention, it was a school of goldfish, Mellow would quickly turn his head towards the fish, a trail of bubbles being left behind as he moved his head. Alan would notice this and looks over to Mellow, almost laughing as he watched him.

Soon as the fish swim by and seemingly disappear, Mellow would slowly turn his head back towards Alan and shifts closer to his side, leaning into him a tad, resting his cheek against Alan's head gently, both horses slowly kicking their legs to keep themselves still underwater. Alan would nuzzle Mellow softly, playing with his long, soft floating brown mane with his nose, Mellow would sigh softly, bubbles slowly protruding from his nose.

Not long after though Mellow could feel his lungs tightening, he'd nudge Alan's neck gently and shifts away from him a tad, looking at him. Alan would look back at Mellow, him notioning to Alan that he needs air. Alan nods and begins to swim up to the surface with Mellow quickly, their long, soft manes dragging behind them as they swam up, bubbles trailing from their nostrils.

Shortly after they'd break the surface, Alan and Mellow both gasping for breath. Alan would look over to Mellow and asks him if he's okay. Mellow nods and moves in close to nuzzle Alan, Mellow's long, soft wet brown mane clinging to him with part of it floating in the water, Alan would nuzzle him comfortingly.

Mellow would tell Alan that the coral was amazing and smiles at him, his long, soft brown tail swishing eagerly in the water, the two horses resting their heads on each other's backs, relaxing in the warm, clear water..

The idea for this collab came about from a day dream I had a couple of weeks ago and I forwarded this idea to Mellow-Clouds I was a tad nervous asking her to do an underwater render collab with me as our last collab is also an underwater themed render but she was happy to do the collab with me ( Thank youu ;n; ) the lineart for this turned out amazing! thank you for doing this with me Mellow-Clouds <3

The lighting was a bit of a headache but I hope it looks okay ;w; aside from that, I absolutely love how it turned out and I hope you all like it too <3
