Gates of Ishtar - Tears

As I tear the blindfold from my eyes
I can see that my fears were not born from a dream
From the touch of wings my tears turns red
And like a withering flower my life ends

I scream in pain, but my soul is burning to ashes
I dream again, but my eyes are sleeping forever

As the tears runs red down over my face
I remember the light of the dawn on my bed
But my eyes are forever dreaming in red
And my tears will not ever extinguish the flames

I scream again, but my soul is burning to ashes
I dream in pain, but my tears are falling forever

In my eyes burns the flames of the dreaming souls
And in my heart burns the candle, The blackest of fear
Why can't I watch the dawn once again?
To live in eternal dusk is my deepest fear

Still not sure if this is a good idea to upload this but we'll see how it goes. This is an experimental piece and I spent about six hours trying different ideas and techniques including photo-screening a horse with a skeleton painted on it over my character, reflections, a few lighting tricks aswell as trying a new technique for drawing manes and tails. It came together quite nicely despite it looking different from my other pieces.

The song Tears by Gates of Ishtar is my favourite song from the band and I decided to link it with this piece as it fit with the tone nicely. I really love the song writing and the riffs are amazing and there is so much energy in the whole song.

I hope you all like this piece either way <3
