Description
This is for my friends out there that have, or know someone with Autism. And my new friend who inspired me. Thanks! This is not an easy thing to live with, and often is very challenging for the caregivers as well as the person that helps them. But the rewards are great. Seeing your loved one for the first time interact with their environment and you can be the most amazing thing. Every day there are new therapies being created, as well as drugs to help. It is unfortunate that even with all these great medical advances that many children every year are still being diagnosed with this. It can be severe or it can be so mild that you wouldn't know it from a simple interaction.
This is a [link] to an organization that can help with some of your questions.
Here's a place to get some support [link]
Last thing I can tell you as far as getting support, ask your doctor, hospital, or clergy if they know any groups that meet. Also talk to friends and family members, they can help or even just listen. Remember you are never alone.
It is okay to put this in your DA journals. Feel free to comment or add your story here so that others may learn, maybe you could even meet a friend.

Thanks a lot for making this stamp, it's awesome
I have high functioning autism which I was diagonsed with at 3:3..., I find it really hard to deal with stress, thinking laterially about things....(especially when faced with maths word problems ) and have sensory issues with noise and heat....and I express myself the best by writing things down...
I've had to put up with bulling as people could tell I was different Β and I also found it really hard in school,(I was placed in a special school) as the teachers would often underestimate what I was capable of and gave me work that most of the time I managed to complete in a short amount of time, where the others would be struggling with....which frustrated me constantly...and was told I was a disgrace to the school.....DX
But my family have supported me throughout my life and encouraged me constantly with my interests and talents such as singing, ict, art and english... and in a lot of respects, my asd is a blessing... for instance...As I'm so obsessive with things...- I can easily motivate myself to do work ^^
I'm now in college doing a ICT (computer) level 3 qualification at distinction level (which I'm really enjoying) and planning to go on to do a hnd course (level 4/5) Β in computing and systems development next year:3

This is amazing! Thanks a lot.
I was searching for pictures (or what this is called, Im not that good in english ) for a while now, for a presentation at school, but they seemed all that negative to me.
But this picture is just saying "I'm proud to be autistic" to me.
My story:
I'm 17 now. Something about 6 years ago I heared I got autism.
At my second school, I was a member of a orginisation made by volunteers. Another member, just a year older than me, was also a member, and thought I was weird. He was bullying me and tried to get me out of the orginisation. Telling the organizers they should set me out of the group and saying to me I was nothing. If he succeed, I would have none confidence now. Thanks to my friend he didnt. At one point, she found me crying in a corner. She was amazing at that point, although the docent couldnt understand. She just started to scream in the class when he had a argument to me. She was my hero and learned me look at the bright side of autism. The eye for detail. Imagination. Good in remembering things.
Yes...I'm proud to be autistic. Deal with it!

Wow, thanks. I never thought about doing it for anything but to help others out. There are so many things out there well worth supporting and trying to help out.I am sure I still have quite a few up my sleeves.

Wow, thanks for that amazing story. I have found over the years that autism isn't nearly as limiting as it was in the past. The new therapies really have made a big difference. I love the animal work and the music therapies, as well as, anything in the arts. This man's story is very inspiring.
