Description The relief the stallion felt could not be put into words, not when he finally caught the scent of his mares, finally his mares. Picking up his hooves a bit quicker Lawrence barely held himself from a full gallop as he saw the final tunnel open up into a unfenced area. The whispers and questions behind him remained unanswered as his focus zero'ed in on the pacing golden form of Nadra, Elenora not far away, two little fillies pressed close to eachother, even closer to their mother. As the large stallion took his first steps out of the weird labyrinth of human pens a heavy weight also pressed on his shoulders, just as a weight lifted from his chest.

He was free once more, his mares reunited and even more joining the herd. And beyond that...Even more foals. His herd had grown from three, to ten, counting himself. Even as Lawrence reunited with his first family, his head pressing gently against both his first Mare's in much needed reassurance he was back, and that they were ok, the knowledge that his responsibilities more then just doubled was not lost on him. No. Never lost, it would always be present in the back of his mind. A constant he wouldn't let himself forget. It would be stupid of him to push these new responsibilities to the side after all.

Taking a deep breath and letting the scent of his mares, new and old, fill his head for a moment he lifted his head from the gentle press of Elenora's. Introductions would have to wait, pausing in his turn to eye the twins pressed close to Nora's underbelly he felt himself swallow thickly before giving his head a rough shake. All introductions would have to wait. Moving quickly Lawrence started grouping the mares together, gentle nudges seemed to do fine for them all currenly. Even ever snippy Nadra went without much fuss. Lawrence knew he was going to need help with his new larger herd soon, to help lead them, but for now all he did was lead his mares away.

Far away from this human place. Away from the noises, the smells. He loathed it even if they hadnt hurt any of them. Even as the sun started setting Lawrence was still moving the herd. Their gallop having eased through the day to a steady trot. Peace having fallen over the mares as they spoke softly.

Glancing over his mares he almost smiled a moment seeing Amil moving next to Nadra, for the most part the three new mares had been keeping a slight gap between the ones who have been in Law's care longer. "Are you doing alright dear?" The voice was soft, that of a mother yet holding the tone of someone who had the experience to see through the false walls the golden mare had thrown up to hide her huffing breaths.

Nadra almost flinched as the brown mare strode next to her, she was a bit older then Nadra but her eyes held wisdom that had Nadra's ears almost pinning to her skull. "I'm fine." Her voice was clipped, yet the edges crackling and the effort to just talk almost caused a cough she had been supressing.

Amil made a slight face at the younger mare, Nadra must not be able to tell how bad she sounded. Taking a deep breath through her nostrils she let herself slow down. Giving Nadra the false hope that Amil would just let it lie. Hah, not likely. Amil was smart enough to know that an illness of any kind could be deadly to the foals. Expecially since they all looked to be around the same age, well, other then the brown and white filly of Ginny's. She seemed a bit older then the almost newborns. Maybe a few months if anything.

As Amil fell back closer to Lawrence his ears perked slightly, brown eyes glancing towards her, waitig to hear why she had parted from the herd and her own Filly. Amil gave a small smile, "I think the fillies are getting tired, maybe it would be wise to stop for the night?" Framing the advice as a question just to be safe. In Amil's experience it was better to be careful around stallions, expecially ones you didnt know much about. Lawrence was a mystery, his size scared her when she first saw him, yet his more so gentle demeaner had her at ease as well as worried.

Would he be up for the challenge a herd this size could give him? Already he seemed to be having trouble to realize that they did not all have his stamina. They couldn't keep going like this for long even at the slowed pace. As her eyes focused back in she pushed her worries away for later contimplacion. Eyes trained on Lawrence, yet he seemed to be focused on something in the herd instead of her. His brown eyes focused and sharp before he spoke, before Amil could follow his gaze to try and see what he did.

"It's Nadra isn't it?" He asked softly, careful only Amil could hear him. Her ears flicking up in surpise, her hoof falls faltering for only a moment. "I'm..Not sure what you are asking." Choosing her words carefully she felt her chest tighten as he let out a heavy sigh.

"The foals can keep going a little longer, yet Nadra..." Turning his head to bring Amil into his gaze she felt something in her chest twist. His eyes were sharp, yet they didn't have that suffocating look in them that would have made Amil truly worried. "Nadra is stubborn...She always had been. She's sick and refuses to ask for a rest, I know."

Along side the tightening in her chest Amil felt a small flame of heat spark, her ears flicking back and her head lowering along with her voice sharpening. "Then why aren't you stopping the Herd?" Whisper yelling was better then having the other mares come and ask what was the commotion after all. Confusion swam around her chest as Lawrence only chuckled, tilting his head down and looked almost bashful in a way, a easy smile on his muzzle. "I'm waiting until the Foal's truly get worn out. Then she will have no choice but to rest as well. It's just how she is unfotinaly..Stubborn as a mule she is. But she wouldnt compromise the foals by making them walk  any farther tonight. So please Amil." Those intensely sharp brown eyes once more met the brown mare's. "Trust me to know my mares."

Amil swallowed back the words she wanted to throw at the stallion. Truly she should just be thankful he was willing to keep her and her foal around. She knew not all would be so..Welcoming to a foal not of their bloodline. "Of course.." she murmured after a moment. Her tone turning more placating and docile. Stepping up her pace to pull away from the large scar covered stallion. Moving up in her herd to be next to her foal once more. Yet with her back turned she missed the way Law's ears flicked back. A worried look coming over his face for a moment before letting out a soft sigh.

He was confused as to why she had turned so..Submissive suddenly. But he shouldn't be too surprised so he pushed the feeling down as it tried to rise in his chest. He was still a stranger to most of the herd after all. It was only natural that they would try and play it safe. Better a happy stallion then an angry one, as his mother would say. He didn't like it but that was how it was, at least for now at the very least.

It was a few hours of daylight left when Lawrence finally saw the young fillies at their limit Whining and murmurs raising through the herd, letting out a relieved breath he shook himself before lifting his head to call out. "Alright! We're far enough. Let's take a rest for the night." Lawrence was almost thankful how quick they stopped, the long grass looked inviting even to him truly, yet he didn't start trying to settle like the mares and foals. Not yet.

The large stallion kept his head up, slowly circling the herd, ears pressed forward and alert despite the fatigue that tried dragging his hooves with every step. He continued to walk, well. That was until he had to stop in his tracks as he almost walked right into Nadra. "Ah, sorry." He muttered, voice thick yet even now. As the sun set he was determined to keep alert to let the herd all rest.

The golden mare eyed the large black and white stallion. She hadn't noticed it at first but he looked exhausted. Which, she mused to herself, made sense. "You look like you're about to colapse." She snuffed, tossing her head back slightly. Eyes narrowing as she noticed the slight cringe. His neck straining just to keep his head up. "How about you rest and...I'll wake you up in a bit?"

The kind offer caught Law off guard, head lifting more to look down at the golden mare. Nadra was many things, determined, loyal, firey, so many things. But to him? To him she had always been snippy, trying to undermine him in small ways even when it was just them and Elenora. The gentle tone made him cautious but also felt his chest warm.

After a moment longer of staring he let out a soft breath. Eyes softening and he gave a small nod, "Alright. But do wake me up." Tone gentle but firm, even now she was pushing herself but this was progress in a way. And he didn't want to look a gift horse in the mouth after all. Making his way past he gazed over his herd once more before lowering himself into the long soft grass to let his mind wander and ease himself into sleep. Dreams full of his new mares and their foals. Maybe one day even his own.
